Amsterdamsche FC
Amsterdamsche Football Club, known as AFC, is a football club from Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is currently playing in the Tweede Divisie, the third tier of football in the Netherlands. History 19th century: Foundation AFC was founded in 1895 when a group of young Amsterdammers decided to create a football club. On 18 January 1895 the founding meeting took place in the basement of a house on the Koninginneweg where after a long discussion the name "Amsterdamsche Football Club (AFC)" was chosen. The meeting was held by six boys aged fifteen and sixteen. Four of them being Gerard Scheepens, Hein Brass, Frits Bernard and G.J. Bernard. These six boys were the progenitors of AFC. 20th century: Championships galore AFC-1 were crowned champions 13 times; 1906, 1909, 1917, 1918, 1919, 1946, 1961, 1963, 1967, 1969, 2001, 2010 and 2014, while also having been relegated three times; 1921, 1922 and 1998. Eredivisie
The Eredivisie (; ''"Honour Division"'' or ''"Premier Division"'') is the highest level of professional football in the Netherlands. The league was founded in 1956, two years after the start of professional football in the Netherlands. It is considered one of the best European leagues. As of the 2020–21 season, it is ranked the sixth-best league in Europe by UEFA. The Eredivisie consists of 18 clubs. Each club meets every other club twice during the season, once at home and once away. Tom Bromilow
Thomas George Bromilow (7 October 1894 – 4 March 1959) was an English international left half footballer who played for Liverpool between 1919 and 1930. He was virtually ever-present during the back-to-back League title triumphs of the early 1920s. Life and playing career Born in West Derby, Liverpool, England, Bromilow was signed by Liverpool after the 24-year-old turned up at Anfield one afternoon in 1919 asking for a trial. He had only recently been demobilised from the army. George Patterson, the then Liverpool assistant manager, agreed to give him a trial and was impressed by his skill and Bromilow was signed. Edwin Dutton
Edwin Dutton (8 April 1890 – 24 May 1972) was an Anglo-German footballer and coach. Dutton played as a forward for Britannia Berlin 92, BFC Preussen, Newcastle United and Germany. During the First World War he was interned at Ruhleben, a civilian detention camp in Germany. During the 1920s he managed Stuttgarter Kickers and became the first professional trainer at Ipswich Town. Birthplace Dutton's parents migrated from England to Germany where his father, Thomas Edwin Dutton, became a sporting pioneer, helping introduce football and cricket to Berlin and Wrocław. As a result, there is some confusion over where Edwin was actually born. Conflicting sources have claimed South Shields in Tyne and Wear or Mittelwalde in Germany. Fred Warburton
Frederick Warburton (8 August 1880 – 29 November 1948) was an English football player and manager active in the early part of the twentieth century. Career Playing career Warburton played football professionally in England at the turn of the century. He played one game for Bolton Wanderers and then after slipping into the non-League with Bryn Central, he played for Bury for two seasons, registering five goals in 11 appearances from a position of inside forward. He later played in the Southern Football League for Swindon Town and Plymouth Argyle before playing for Accrington Stanley and Morecambe. Joel Tillema (born 5 September 1989) is a Dutch footballer who plays as a attacking midfielder for AFC. Career Tillema started playing football at amateur club in his hometown of The Hague before moving to RVC Rijswijk, where he was noticed by talent scouts of Ajax. He ended up in the youth academy of the Amsterdam-based club, but after some time returned to his hometown to play in the youth academy of ADO Den Haag. Robbert Schilder (born 18 April 1986) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for AFC in the Dutch Tweede Divisie. Club career Ajax Born in Amstelveen, Schilder started playing for local club NFC at age 6, before moving to VV Amstelveen Heemraad. There, he was scouted by Ajax, and eventually joined their famed youth academy in 1999. After progressed through the different youth levels of the Amsterdam club between 1999 and 2005, Schilder was added to the Ajax first team in the winter break of the 2005–06 season.
