Amsterdam Metalfest
Amsterdam Metalfest is a biannual metalfestival that takes place in the Netherlands' capital city, Amsterdam. As from 2015, it is held in the much acclaimed venue Melkweg (Dutch for "Milky Way") and organised by Metal Amsterdam. Amsterdam Metalfest endeavors to provide a stage for local and (inter)national metalbands and, in doing so, re-establishing the Amsterdam metalscene. It was originally organized iThe Sugarfactory featuring Dutch bands like Cilice, The New Dominion, Red Eyes, Illucinoma and others. The May 2018 edition line-up is Fleshgod Apocalypse, Obscura, The Charm The Fury, Hideous Divinity, For I Am King, Onegodless. Melkweg
Melkweg (Dutch for "Milky Way") is a popular music venue and cultural centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is located on Lijnbaansgracht, near Leidseplein, a prime nightlife square of Amsterdam. It is housed in a former dairy and is divided into a number of spaces of varying sizes. Besides four halls for varying genres of music concerts, the venue houses a cinema, a restaurant and an exhibition space. The Charm The Fury
The Charm The Fury was a Dutch metal band from Amsterdam, formed in 2010. In 2013 The Charm The Fury released their first album, ''A Shade of my Former Self,'' throughout Listenable Records, after independently releasing the EP The Social Meltdown, back in 2012. In 2014, the band played at FortaRock Festival in Nijmegen and in 2015 at Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium. In 2017, the band released their second album, ''The Sick, Dumb & Happy,'' though Nuclear Blast. On 20 November 2018 the band announced they were breaking up due to line-up changes and financial reasons.
