Amphibious (2010 Film)
''Amphibious'' is a 2010 thriller film directed by Brian Yuzna and written by Yuzna, John Penney, Somtow Sucharitkul and San Fu Maltha. It stars Francis Magee, Janna Fassaert and Michael Paré. Plot Skyler Shane, a marine biologist, meets Jack Bowman, at a northern Sumatran lake to search for prehistoric samples. During this expedition, they encounter some smugglers who have their headquarters on the lake. Tamal, an orphan who was sold to the smugglers as a slave, begs Skyler to save her. Since the child reminds Skyler of her lost daughter Rebecca, she agrees, not knowing what secret is lurking in the water. Ever since Tamal has been on the lake, strange things have been happening: more and more people disappear and are devoured by a creature from the deep. Brian Yuzna
Brian Yuzna is an American producer, director, and writer. He is best known for his work in the science fiction and horror film genres. Yuzna began his career as a producer for several films by director Stuart Gordon, such as ''Re-Animator'' (1985) and '' From Beyond'' (1986), before making his directorial debut with the satirical body horror film ''Society'' (1989). He also served as a co-writer for the comedy ''Honey, I Shrunk the Kids'' (1989). Yuzna was the first American filmmaker to adapt a manga, ''Bio Booster Armor Guyver'', into a live-action feature, ''The Guyver'' (1991). He has helmed several adaptations of the work of H. P. Lovecraft, and has assisted many first time directors, including Stuart Gordon, Christophe Gans, and Luis De La Madrid, in getting their projects made. John Penney
John Penney is an American film producer, screenwriter and director who has been working in the horror genre for over thirty years. He has created material for, and been involved in, a range of subgenres, including zombie movies (''Return of the Living Dead III''), classic Creature Features (''Amphibious''), and supernatural thrillers ('' Hellgate''). Biography John Penney is the son of science fiction writer Raylyn Moore (née Crabbe) and stepson of writer Ward Moore. Ray Bradbury was an old roommate of Ward Moore, and one of the first people to give Penney writing advice when he was a young man.
