Amman Arul
''Amman Arul'' is a 1973 Tamil-language film directed by Pattu. The film stars A. V. M. Rajan, Jaishankar and Manjula. The film was produced by P. L. Palaniappa Chettiar in the name of his son S. Ram. Its music was composed by Shankar–Ganesh. The film is based on the powers of goddess Parvati. Parvathi is known in Tamil language as Amman and hence the film's name ''Amman Arul''. Plot Veteran actor Jai Shankar plays the son of the Pannaiyar, who returns from abroad where he studied medicine. Shankhar falls in love with Manjula who is the daughter of the temple priest. Shankhar is an ardent atheist and refuses to accept the presence of god. Manjula is a motherless girl who desires to get a gold chain for her birthday. Jaishankar
Jaishankar (12 July 1938 – 3 June 2000) was an Indian actor known for his work in Tamil cinema. He was a very popular lead actor in the 1960s and 70s. He was credited onscreen with title of ''Makkal Kalaingnar'' (people's artiste) or ''Makkal Thamizhan'' (people's Tamil) in most films starring him. He was also referred to as ''Thennakathu James Bond'' (South Indian James Bond) because of his roles in films such as ''Vallavan Oruvan'' and ''CID Shankar''. Biography Jaishankar, whose real name was Shankar hailed from Kumbakonam, but was born in Thirunelveli to parents Subramaniyan Iyer who was the Judge of Thirunelveli court and Yogambal on 12 July 1938. Manjula Vijayakumar (4 July 195423 July 2013) was an Indian actress. She acted in more than 100 films in South Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Srikanth (Tamil Actor, Born 1940)
Srikanth (19 March 1940 – 12 October 2021) was an Indian actor who has performed in around 200 Tamil films since his debut in 1965. He is also referred to as Venniradai Srikanth. He has played the lead hero in around 50 films between 1965 and 1979 and has also played supporting roles in films with actors Sivaji Ganesan, Muthuraman, Ravichandran and Jaishankar in the lead roles. In the late seventies to early nineties, he appeared as a villain opposite actors including Sivakumar, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Thengai Srinivasan
Thengai Srinivasan (21 October 1937 – 9 November 1987) was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil language, Tamil-language films and plays from the 1960s to the 1980s. He was given the prefix ''Thengai'' (coconut) after his role as a coconut-seller in the play ''Kal Manam''. Although originally a comedian, he also performed in other genres and enacted several lead and antagonistic roles. Shankar–Ganesh is an Indian music director duo who has worked on Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies for around 50 years. Career They started as assistants to Tamil music composers M. S. Viswanathan and T. K. Ramamoorthy in 1964 and later the duo assisted M.S.Viswanathan alone from 1965 till 1967. Kannadhasan started his own film Titled "Nagarathil Thirudargal" in which he introduced Shankar Ganesh as music directors. The film was stopped, so Kannadhasan took them to Chinnappa Devar and requested him to give them a chance. Radha (born 1932) and Jayalakshmi (1932 - 2014), popularly known as Radha Jayalakshmi ( ta, ராதா ஜெயலட்சுமி), were an Indian Carnatic music vocalist duo as well as playback singers in films in the 1940s and 1950s. They later became teachers and trained notable Carnatic music singers. Jayalakshmi was the playback singer of the duo, but was credited as Radha Jayalakshmi in the cine field. Radha was her cousin and singing partner on stage performances.
