Amjad Siddique
Amjad Saddiq (born 12 December 1959) is a Pakistani former first-class cricketer who played for Water and Power Development Authority cricket team between 1981 and 1988, including some time as captain. He started his career as an all-rounder and in 1986/1987 WAPDA placed 3rd position in Quaid e Azam trophy under his captaincy. In 1992 Saddiq was appointed as a head coach of WAPDA cricket team in Domestic circuit. Coaching career After retiring from first-class cricket last in 1992, Saddiq became the head coach of the Water and Power Development Authority cricket team side due to his service as captain. Saddiq is a qualified Pakistan Cricket Board Level 1 and 2 coach. WAPDA won 1 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and 2 National one day title and 5 times runner-up under his coaching in Pakistan domestic events. A sports coach is a person coaching in sport, involved in the direction, instruction and training of a sports team or athlete. Water And Power Development Authority Cricket Team
The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) cricket team was a first-class cricket side in Pakistan that played in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Patron's Trophy, Pentangular Trophy and also competed in limited-overs cricket, from 1975 to 2018. History Water and Power Development Authority first competed at first-class level in the 1975–76 season, but they did not become a permanent part of top-level domestic competitions until the 1997–98 Patron's Trophy, when they finished last out of eight, without a win. They became more successful in the twenty-first century, and won several trophies. After their final season in 2018–19 they had played 219 first-class matches, for 88 wins, 51 losses, 79 draws and one tie. Pakistan Cricket Board
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is a sports governing body for cricket in Pakistan responsible for controlling and organising all tours and matches undertaken by the Pakistan national cricket team. A member of the International Cricket Council since 1952, it represents the country's men's and women's national teams in international cricket tournaments played under the ICC. Following the establishment of Pakistan as an independent dominion of the British Empire in 1947, professional and amateur cricket commenced in the same year, seeing as local infrastructure had already been established when the country was part of the British Raj. Quaid-e-Azam Trophy
The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket competition in Pakistan. With few exceptions, it has been staged annually since it was first played during the 1953–54 season. Domestic cricket in Pakistan has undergone many reorganisations, with the number of teams and matches in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy changing regularly. Since the 2019–20 season it has been contested by six regional teams, having previously been variously contested by associations or departments, or a combination of the two. Patron's Trophy
The Patron's Trophy was a cricket competition that was held in Pakistan between 1960–61 and 2018–19 mainly among teams representing the government and semi-government departments, corporations, commercial organisations, business houses, banks, airlines, and educational institutions. Matches in the competition were afforded first-class status in most seasons until 2006–07, when the domestic first-class competition was reorganised and merged into the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). From then on, the Patron's Trophy was a Grade II competition until a major reorganisation of domestic cricket in 2019 brought an end to the competition.
