The Anglican Province of the Niger is one of the 14 ecclesiastical provinces of the Church of Nigeria. It comprises 9 dioceses: *Awka (Bishop: Alexander Ibezim) *Aguata (Bishop: Samuel Ezeofor) *Amichi (Bishop: Ephraim Ikeakor) *Ihiala (Bishop: Israel Kelue Okoye) *Mbamili (Bishop: Obiora Uzochukwu) * On the Niger (Bishop: Owen Chidozie Nwokolo) *Niger West (Bishop: Johnson Ekwe) *Nnewi (Bishop: Ndubuisi Obi) *Ogbaru (Bishop: Prosper Afam Amah) Archbishops of the Province Maxwell Anikwenwa, Bishop of Awka was the first Archbishop of the Niger Province, from its erection in 2002 until his retirement in 2010; he had previously been Archbishop of Province II since 2000. He was re-elected in 2007. Christian Efobi, Bishop of Aguata, was the second Archbishop of the Province, until his retirement in 2018. He had started his second term as archbishop on 24 July 2016. Ephraim Ikeakor
Ephraim Okechukwu Ikeakor is an Anglican bishop in Nigeria; he is the current Bishop of Amichi, one of nine within the Anglican Province of the Niger, itself one of 14 provinces within the Church of Nigeria. Ikeakor was born in Umuguma on 4 May 1966. He went to school in Umuchu before graduating from Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He was ordained in 1997. Peter Akinola
Peter Jasper Akinola (born 27 January 1944, in Abeokuta) is the former Anglican Primate of the Church of Nigeria. He is also the former bishop of Abuja and Archbishop of Province III, which covered the northern and central parts of the country. When the division into ecclesiastical provinces was adopted in 2002, he became the first Archbishop of Abuja Province, a position he held until 2010. He is married and a father of six. Anglican Diocese Of Ideato
The Anglican Diocese of Ideato is one of twelve within the Anglican Province of Owerri, Nigeria. It is one of the fourteen provinces within the Church of Nigeria. The diocese was created out of the then Okigwe-Orlu Diocese in 1999. The current bishop is Henry Okeke; he was translated from Mbamili in 2020. Raphael Okafor
Raphael Okafor was an Anglican bishop in Nigeria: he was Bishop of Ihiala from 2008 until his retirement in 2016. Okafor was born in Zaria on 7 August 1946.
