Americana Unplugged
Americana Unplugged was a live music series, held every first Thursday, established in 2006 by Larry Lyon featuring singer-songwriters from across United States, America and abroad, while contributing to local charities. Artists also performed free concerts for children, the local Veteran’s Center and retirement home, retirement centers. The concerts were usually held monthly at the LaVille Inn in downtown Davis, Oklahoma. Americana Unplugged also hosted two free Christmas concerts (Albert & Gage, then Big Wide Grin) in the high school auditorium funded by local businesses. Larry Lyon donated all his time and other costs associated with the series as a way of giving back to the community. Key Club
Key Club International, also called Key Club, is an international service organization for high school students. As a student-led organization, Key Club's goal is to encourage leadership through serving others. Key Club International is the high school branch of the Kiwanis International family, classifying as a Service Leadership Program and more specifically as a Kiwanis Youth Program. Many Key Clubs are sponsored by a local Kiwanis club. The organization was started by California State Commissioner of Schools Albert C. Olney and vocational education teacher Frank C. Rickie Lee Skaggs (born July 18, 1954), known professionally as Ricky Skaggs, is an American neotraditional country and bluegrass singer, musician, producer, and composer. He primarily plays mandolin; however, he also plays fiddle, guitar, mandocaster, and banjo. Skaggs was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2016 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2018. The Dixie Chicks
The Chicks (previously known as Dixie Chicks) are an American country music band from Dallas, Texas. Since 1995, the band has consisted of Natalie Maines (lead vocals, guitar) and sisters Martie Maguire (vocals, fiddle, mandolin, guitar) and Emily Strayer (vocals, guitar, banjo, Dobro). Chester Burton Atkins (June 20, 1924 – June 30, 2001), known as "Mr. Guitar" and "The Country Gentleman", was an American musician who, along with Owen Bradley and Bob Ferguson, helped create the Nashville sound, the country music style which expanded its appeal to adult pop music fans.
