American Ninja Warrior (season 7)
The seventh season of ''American Ninja Warrior'' premiered on NBC on May 25, 2015. Hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila returned for their respective sixth and third seasons while newcomer Kristine Leahy joined as sideline reporter, replacing Jenn Brown. In addition, this season's grand prize was increased from $500,000 to $1,000,000. The season concluded on September 14, 2015. For the first time in ''American Ninja Warrior'' history, a competitor completed Stage 3 of the Las Vegas Finals. Both Geoff Britten and Isaac Caldiero completed Stage 3 and climbed Stage 4 in the allotted time of 30 seconds and achieved "Total Victory." Caldiero made the climb in the faster time and was the first competitor to be awarded the grand prize of $1,000,000. However, the title of "First American Ninja Warrior" was unofficially awarded by the community to Britten for being the first to climb the tower. Matt Iseman
Matt Iseman (born January 22, 1971) is an American comedian, actor, and television host, who began his career as a physician. He is best known for his role as play-by-play announcer and host of ''American Ninja Warrior''. He was the winner of ''The New Celebrity Apprentice'' in 2017, the show's only season. Early life and medical career Iseman was born in Denver, Colorado. The son of a pulmonologist, Iseman was raised in Denver and followed his father into a medical career, earning a B.A. with honors from Princeton University and an M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. The fourth season of ''American Ninja Warrior'' began on May 20, 2012, and aired on NBC and G4. This was a landmark season for ''Ninja Warrior'', as the entire format was overhauled. For the first time, the finals took place on U.S. soil. In addition, regional qualifying and finals were added, taking place in the series' flagship location, Venice Beach, CA, Dallas, TX, and Miami, FL. Akbar Oluwakemi-Idowu Gbaja-Biamila (born May 6, 1979) is a former professional American football player in the National Football League (NFL) who is a commentator and co-host on the ''American Ninja Warrior'' television series. He is the former sports analyst for the NFL Network, as well as one of the co-hosts of '' The Talk'' on CBS.
