''American Mormon'' is a 2005 comedic documentary (starring Daryn Tufts and Jed Knudsen) that takes look at the real life misconceptions (and understandings) concerning the faith and culture of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Background and plot Tufts and Knudsen, who also act as producers of ''American Mormon'', were continually surprised and amused by the misconceptions many people appeared to share concerning the LDS faith. Believing this to be a fascinating and worthwhile subject matter for a documentary, the two men began traveling across the United States, armed with nothing more than a digital video camera and microphone. Gadfield Elm Chapel
The Gadfield Elm Chapel near the village of Pendock in Worcestershire, England, is the oldest extant chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The structure was built in 1836 as a religious meeting house by the United Brethren, a group of breakaway Primitive Methodists led by Thomas Knighton. In 1840, Latter Day Saint missionary and apostle Wilford Woodruff preached among the United Brethren; ultimately all but one of the 600 members converted to Mormonism. After the conversions, the structure was deeded to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by Knighton and John Benbow. As a chapel of the early Latter Day Saint movement, the building was a centre of activity for the church in the Malvern Hills area. Meridian Magazine
Scot Facer Proctor and Maurine Jensen Proctor are the founders of the Latter-day Saint oriented website ''Meridian Magazine''. They have also issued a revised edition of Lucy Mack Smith's history of Joseph Smith which reintroduces material from Lucy's 1845 manuscript that was removed before Lucy's history was originally published. This version of Lucy's history is cited by such scholars such as Susan Easton Black and Craig J. Ostler. The Proctors' work is also among those cited in the bibliography to Scott R.
