American Kickboxer
''American Kickboxer'' (also known as ''American Kickboxer 1'') is a 1991 South African-American martial arts action film directed by Frans Nel and written by Emil Kolbe, based on an original story by the film's lead actor, John Barrett. Plot Robert James "B.J." Quinn (John Barrett) is the current middleweight kickboxing champion of the world ready to face his next opponent, Chad Hunter (Keith Vitali). Hunter proves to be quite the opponent with his impressive skills but in the second round Quinn accidentally hits Chad with an elbow while going for a spinning back fist, causing the doctor to stop the fight. Quinn retains his title. At a party celebrating a new sponsor to kickboxing, middleweight contender and cocky fighter Jacques Denard (Brad Morris) hits on Quinn's girlfriend Carol (Terry Norton). Keith Vitali
Keith Vitali is an American Karate master, former number one ranked full-contact fight champion, martial artist, actor, producer, author and child activist, best known for films such as Revenge of the Ninja, Wheels on Meals, No Retreat, No Surrender 3: Blood Brothers, and American Kickboxer. His introduction into martial arts came in 1975 at the University of South Carolina, where he was awarded his first black belt after two years. Over the course of the next ten years, Vitali competed in a large number of martial arts tournaments, winning most of them, as well as being ranked the "#1 Karate Fighter in the USA". His number of wins landed him an honored place in ''Black Belt Magazine's'' Black Belt Hall of Fame in 1981. The magazine also named Vitali as one of the ten best fighters of all time.
