American Eagle (DC Comics)
''Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew!'' is a DC Comics series about a team of talking animal superheroes called the Zoo Crew. The characters first appeared in a 16-page special insert in ''The New Teen Titans'' #16 (February 1982), followed by a series published from 1982 to 1983. The Zoo Crew characters were created by Roy Thomas and Scott Shaw! Although the series, which was the last original funny animal property to be created by DC Comics, proved short-lived, it is still fondly remembered by many comic fans of its generation, and the characters appear occasionally in cameos in the mainstream DC Universe (this is made possible due to the existence of a "multiverse" in the DCU, which allows the Zoo Crew characters to exist on a parallel Earth). The series was introduced in a 16-page insert in ''The New Teen Titans'' #16. The series was cancelled after 20 issues, with six issues still in preparation. American Eagle (Marvel Comics)
American Eagle (Jason Strongbow) is a Navajo superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Publication history American Eagle first appears in '' Marvel Two-in-One'' Annual #6 (October 1981), by writer Doug Moench and penciler Ron Wilson. In the story entitled "An Eagle from America!" Strongbow gains superhuman powers and becomes American Eagle. He joins with Thing, Ka-Zar, and Wyatt Wingfoot to defeat Klaw. The character subsequently appears in '' Contest of Champions'' #1, 3 (June & August 1982), '' Incredible Hulk'' (vol. 2) #279 (January 1983), and ''Rom'' #65-66 (April 1985-May 1985). He makes several appearances in stand-alone stories in ''Marvel Comics Presents'' including issues #27 (September 1989), 128 (May 1993), 130 (June 1993), and 147-148 (February 1994). American Eagle (Standard Comics)
The American Eagle is a superhero from the Golden Age of Comics. He first appeared in ''America's Best Comics'' #2 (Sept 1942), published by Nedor Comics, an imprint of Standard Comics. American Eagle was revived by two other comics publishers: first AC Comics, and then by America's Best Comics, by writer Alan Moore as part of his ''Tom Strong'' comics and its spin-off ''Terra Obscura''. Nedor Comics American Eagle was the secret identity of scientist Tom Standish. While performing experiments for the US government, he was accidentally exposed to a mysterious black ray infused with the blood of an eagle. The ray gave him the powers of the bald eagle — flight, strength and (of course) patriotism. Standish used his powers to fight the Nazis and other enemies during World War II. He was accompanied by his young companion Bud Pierce who, as "Eaglet", had powers similar to the American Eagle. His enemies include Dr. Amoto and the Red Mask. Blue Eagle is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.
