''American Beauty: Music from the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack'' is a soundtrack album featuring various artists for the 1999 American drama film American Beauty, released on October 5, 1999 by DreamWorks Records. "Because" is a song written by John Lennon (credited to Lennon–McCartney) and recorded by the English rock band the Beatles. It was released on their 1969 album ''Abbey Road'', immediately preceding the extended medley on side two of the record. It features a prominent three-part vocal harmony by Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison, recorded three times to make nine voices in all. Composition The song begins with a distinctive electric harpsichord intro played by producer George Martin. The harpsichord is joined by Lennon's guitar (mimicking the harpsichord line) played through a Leslie speaker. Then vocals and bass guitar enter. "Because" was one of few Beatles recordings to feature a Moog synthesiser, played by George Harrison. ''À prendre ou à laisser'' (''Take it or leave it'') is the French version of the television game show ''Deal or No Deal''. It was premiered on 12 January 2004 on TF1. It is hosted by Arthur, the former vice-president of Endemol-France and a popular radio presenter. There are 22 boxes representing the 22 régions of France, with each contestant coming from that region. The prizes range from €0.01 to €500,000 and include (normally) three "joke" prizes (e.g. a cup or a coat hanger) and a "joker", containing an amount determined by the number of contestants who answer the "selection-question" correctly. The "joker" is €10,000 (sometimes €30,000) multiplied by the number of correct answers. There has been at least seven winners of the €500,000 prize. Genesis (band)
Genesis are an English rock band formed at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, in 1967. The band's most commercially successful line-up consisted of keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford and drummer/singer Phil Collins. The 1970s line-up, featuring singer Peter Gabriel and guitarist Steve Hackett, was among the pioneers of progressive rock.
