Amel Melih
Amel Melih ( ar, آمال مليح; born 6 October 1993) is an Algerian swimmer. She represented Algeria at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Her time of 25.77 in the women's 50m freestyle was not enough to advance out of the heats and she finished in 35th place overall. She finished 39th overall in the women's 100m freestyle with a time of 56.65. She was the flag bearer for Algeria during the opening ceremony along with Mohamed Flissi. Backstroke
Backstroke or back crawl is one of the four Swimming (sport), swimming styles used in competitive events regulated by FINA, and the only one of these styles swum on the back. This swimming style has the advantage of easy breathing, but the disadvantage of swimmers not being able to see where they are going. It also has a different start from the other three competition swimming styles. The swimming style is similar to an ''upside down'' front crawl or freestyle. Both backstroke and front crawl are long-axis strokes. In individual medley backstroke is the second style swum; in the medley relay it is the first style swum. Sonia Asselah (born 20 August 1991 in Tizi Ouzou) is an Algerian judoka. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics, but eliminated in the first round by Karina Bryant. She qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics and was the Algerian flag bearer. At the 2021 African Judo Championships held in Dakar, Senegal, Asselah won the silver medal in her event.
