''Amberzine'' is a magazine that was published by Phage Press that covered ''The Chronicles of Amber'' books, the Amber Diceless Roleplaying Game, and associated material. Publication history Phage Press published ''Amberzine'' #1 (March 1992) shortly after '' Amber Diceless Roleplaying Game'' was released. The digest-sized magazine focused on inspirational material, like character diaries and discussions of elements of the Amber universe. One to three issues per year were published from 1992–1997 and the magazine was known for publishing an original Roger Zelazny Amber short story, "The Salesman's Tale," in ''Amberzine'' #6 (February 1994). Matt Howarth wrote and drew a ''Bugtown/Amber'' comic crossover called "Amber Raves of Pain," which appeared in ''Amberzine'' #6 (February 1994) through #9 (January 1997). The Chronicles Of Amber
''The Chronicles of Amber'' is a series of fantasy novels by American writer Roger Zelazny. The main series consists of two story arcs, each five novels in length. Additionally, there are a number of Amber short stories and other works. Four additional prequel books, authorized by the Zelazny estate following his death, were authored by John Gregory Betancourt. The Amber stories take place in two contrasting "true" worlds, Amber and Chaos, and in shadow worlds (Shadows) that lie between the two. These shadows, including our Earth, are parallel worlds that exist in — and were created from — the tension between the opposing magical forces of Amber and Chaos. The game is unusual in that no dice are used in resolving conflicts or player actions; instead a simple diceless system of comparative ability, and narrative description of the action by the players and gamemaster, is used to determine how situations are resolved. ''Amber DRPG'' was created in the 1980s, and is much more focused on relationships and roleplaying than most of the roleplaying games of that era. Most ''Amber'' characters are members of the two ruling classes in the ''Amber'' multiverse, and are much more advanced in matters of strength, endurance, psyche, warfare and sorcery than ordinary beings. The Dark World
''The Dark World'' is a science fantasy novel credited to Henry Kuttner, although his wife C.L. Moore may have been an uncredited collaborator, or possibly even the author. The novel was first published in the July 1946 issue of ''Startling Stories'', then reprinted in the Winter 1954 issue of ''Fantastic Story Magazine''. Its first book edition was issued by Ace in 1965, followed by a British edition by Mayflower Books in 1966. A French translation appeared in 1972. The novel was reprinted in full in Issue #5 of Amberzine in 1992, and also collected in a 1997 paperback omnibus, ''The Startling Worlds of Henry Kuttner''. Erick Wujcik
Erick A. Wujcik (January 26, 1951 – June 7, 2008) was an American designer of both pen-and-paper and computer role-playing games, and co-founder of Palladium Books. Gaming career Wujcik started off as head of the gaming society at Wayne State University, The Warriors and Warlocks of the Wayne Weregamers Society, also known as the Wayne State Weregamers, where he met and befriended Kevin Siembieda. By 1980 the Wayne Weregamers became known as the Detroit Gaming Center, when Wujcik, the CDM (Caucus of Dungeon Masters) and Siembieda moved the group from the Monteith House, scheduled for demolition, to an off-campus building that was being maintained by a non-profit; Wujcik became Director for the Center with Siembieda as Assistant Director. ''White Wolf'' is a game magazine that was published by White Wolf Publishing from 1986 to 1995. History While still in high school, Stewart Wieck and Steve Wieck decided to self-publish their own magazine, and Steve chose the name "White Wolf" after Elric of Melniboné. ''White Wolf'' #1 was published by their White Wolf Publishing in August 1986 and distributors began to order the magazine a few issues later as its print runs continued to increase. Henry Kuttner (April 7, 1915 – February 3, 1958) was an American author of science fiction, fantasy and horror. Early life Henry Kuttner was born in Los Angeles, California in 1915. Kuttner (1829–1903) and Amelia Bush (c. 1834–1911), the parents of his father, the bookseller Henry Kuttner (1863–1920), had come from Leszno in Prussia and lived in San Francisco since 1859; the parents of his mother, Annie Levy (1875–1954), were from Great Britain. Henry Kuttner's great-grandfather was the scholar Josua Heschel Kuttner. Kuttner grew up in relative poverty following the death of his father.
