William Gopallawa
William Gopallawa (, ; 17 September 1896 – 31 January 1981) was the last Governor-General of Ceylon from 1962 to 1972 and became the first and only non-executive and ceremonial President of Sri Lanka when Ceylon declared itself a republic in 1972 and changed its name to Sri Lanka. From 1948 to 1972, the Dominion of Ceylon was a Commonwealth realm with Queen Elizabeth II as the head of state and Queen of Ceylon. Jaliya Wickramasuriya
Jaliya Wickramasuriya is a Sri Lankan businessmen. A close relative of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, he was the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United States from 2008 to 2014, until the US government asked the Sri Lankan government to recall him. Dr Warnasena Rasaputra (formerly known as Warnasena Rasaputram) (6 September 1927 – 25 June 2003) was a Sri Lankan economist and the seventh Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Biography Warnasena Rasaputram was born on 6 September 1927 in the village of Yatiyana, near Matara, Sri Lanka, the son of Don Nicholas and Jane née Ratnayake. He was educated at St. Servatius' College, Matara and Ananda College, Colombo. Ananda Wahihana Palliya Guruge (28 December 1928 – 6 August 2014), known as Ananda W.P. Guruge, was a Sri Lankan diplomat, Buddhist scholar and writer. Guruge was the former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sri Lanka to UNESCO, France, and United States (with non-resident accreditation to Spain, Algeria and Mexico) during the period from 1985 to 1994. Ernest Corea (1932–11 May 2017) was a Sri Lankan journalist and a diplomat noted for his work to maintain a free and independent press and for negotiations involving Sri Lanka's development programs.
