Amaury Ribeiro Jr.
Amaury Ribeiro Jr. is a Brazilian journalist, known for his works as an investigative journalist at newspapers and publications such as ''O Globo'', '' IstoÉ'', ''Correio Braziliense'' and ''Estado de Minas''. He has won three Esso Journalism Awards and four Vladimir Herzog Awards. Today, he is part of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and executive producer of journalism at TV Record. In 2007, when working at ''Correio Braziliense'', he was investigating homicides linked to the drug trafficking surrounding the Federal District, and was shot at an attempted murder. The suspected shooter was the nephew of Cidade Ocidental mayor Sonia Melo (PSDB) and Amaury had to stay under police care until he was transferred to the newspaper ''Estado de Minas'', owned by the same group of ''Correio''. Cidade Ocidental is a municipality located in central Goiás state, Brazil. Geography It is bordered on the north by the Federal District, on the south by Luziânia, on the east by Cristalina and Luziânia, and on the west by Luziânia and Valparaíso de Goiás. José Serra Chirico (; born 19 March 1942) is a Brazilian politician who has served as a Congressman, Senator, Minister of Planning, Minister of Health, Mayor of São Paulo, Governor of São Paulo state, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil. Early life José Serra was born in the São Paulo neighbourhood of Mooca to Francesco Serra, an Italian immigrant from Corigliano Calabro, Calabria, and Serafina Chirico, a Brazilian born to Italian parents. Serra comes from a lower middle class family. His father was semi-illiterate and worked as a fruit vendor in a market of São Paulo, but he was able to enroll his only child in college. Fernando Henrique Cardoso (; born 18 June 1931), also known by his initials FHC (), is a Brazilian sociologist, professor and politician who served as the 34th president of Brazil from 1 January 1995 to 31 December 2002.
