Suratha ( ta, சுரதா) (23 November 1921 – 20 June 2006) was a Tamil poet, known for his similes. He was called "Uvamai Kavignar" ("poet of comparisons"). Early life Suratha was born in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu as T. Rajagopal on 23 November 1921. He derived his pen name from Subburathnadasan (Bharathidasan, a poet of yesteryear). Literary works ''Saavin Mutham'' (meaning "kiss of death") and ''Thenmazhai'' (meaning "rain of honey") were among his notable works. He also ran a weekly Kaavyam, entirely dedicated to poetry. Lalitha (actress)
Lalitha (16 December 1930 – 1982) was an Indian actress and dancer. She was the eldest of the " Travancore Sisters"—Lalitha, Padmini, and Ragini. She started her acting career in the 1948 Tamil film '' Adhithan Kanavu'' and has acted in movies of different Indian languages including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. She entered films before her sisters, concentrating more on Malayalam films, and was mostly cast in vamp roles. Personal life She was born to Thangappan Pillai and Saraswathi Amma on 16 December 1930 at Thiruvananthapuram. She is the aunt of actress Shobana. Malayalam actress Ambika Sukumaran is her relative. Padmini Ramachandran (12 June 1932 – 24 September 2006) was an Indian actress and trained Bharatanatyam dancer, who acted in over 250 Indian films. She acted in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu and Russian language films. Padmini, with her elder sister Lalitha and her younger sister Ragini, were called the "Travancore sisters". Papanasam Sivan
Paapanaasam Raamayya Sivan (26 September 1890 – 1 October 1973) was an Indian composer of Carnatic music and a singer. He was awarded the Madras Music Academy's Sangeetha Kalanidhi in 1971. He was also a film score composer in Kannada cinema as well as Tamil cinema in the 1930s and 1940s. Sivan was also known as Tamil Thyaagaraja. Using Classical South Indian as a base, Sivan created compositions popularised by M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, D. K. Pattammal, and M. S. Subbulakshmi. In 1962, he was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship conferred by Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's National Academy for Music, Dance and Drama.
