Amara Deepam (1956 Film)
''Amara Deepam'' () is a 1956 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by T. Prakash Rao. A remake of the 1942 American film ''Random Harvest (film), Random Harvest'', it stars Sivaji Ganesan, Savitri (actress), Savitri and Padmini (actress), Padmini. The film, produced by Venus Pictures, was released on 29 June 1956. It was remade in Hindi as ''Amardeep (1958 film), Amardeep'' (1958). Plot Aruna is a girl from a wealthy family. Her parents want her to marry her cousin Sukumar. She, however, does not like him because of his dictatorial behaviour. He even breaks her radio, which convinces Aruna that he is certainly not the person for her. She leaves the house one night without informing anyone to escape from the marriage. She ends up being chased by some goons, and gets saved by a bypasser Ashok. Suddenly, somebody hits Ashok on the head, which causes him to lose his memory. Sivaji Ganesan
Villupuram Chinnaiya Manrayar Ganesamoorthy, better known by his stage name Sivaji Ganesan, (1 October 1928 – 21 July 2001) was an Indian actor and producer. He was active in Tamil cinema during the latter half of the 20th century. Sivaji Ganesan is acknowledged as one of the greatest Indian actors of all time and among the most imitated one by other actors. He was known for his versatility and the variety of roles he depicted on screen, which gave him also the Tamil nickname ''Nadigar Thilagam'' (). In a career that spanned close to five decades, he had acted 288 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. Sivaji Ganesan is the only Tamil actor to have played the lead role in over 250 films. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil language, Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. Kalki Sadasivam, T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. ''Screen'' was an Indian weekly film magazine published by Indian Express Limited. Established in 1951, it was owned by The Indian Express Group. The magazine was acquired by Star India in 2015 and subsequently ceased publication. The magazine's content focused on India's Hindi film industry, a.k.a. Bollywood, located mainly in Mumbai. It also had an e-magazine version. History ''Screen'' was first published on 26 September 1951 with Manorama Katju as its managing editor. She was succeeded in 1959 by S.S.
