Amanda And The Alien
''Amanda and the Alien'' (or ''Alien Love'' in the United Kingdom) is a 1995 made-for-cable science fiction comedy film directed by Jon Kroll and starring Nicole Eggert as Amanda Patterson. It premiered on Showtime (TV network), Showtime on August 20, 1995. Background ''Amanda and the Alien'' is based upon the short story of the same name written by Robert Silverberg. Premise Amanda Patterson, a typical generation X, Gen X girl and employee at an upscale clothing store, is leading a relatively lonely and unremarkable life. All this changes when an alien that's been held at a secret military installation escapes by taking over the body of one of the base employees. Amanda finds the fugitive alien and decides to help him hide from the government agents chasing him, a seemingly easy task, as the alien must change host bodies every few days. Robert Silverberg
Robert Silverberg (born January 15, 1935) is an American author and editor, best known for writing science fiction. He is a multiple winner of both Hugo and Nebula Awards, a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame, and a Grand Master of SF. He has attended every Hugo Awards ceremony since the inaugural event in 1953. Biography Early years Silverberg was born to Jewish parents in Brooklyn, New York. A voracious reader since childhood, he began submitting stories to science fiction magazines during his early teenage years. He received a BA in English Literature from Columbia University, in 1956. While at Columbia, he wrote the juvenile novel ''Revolt on Alpha C'' (1955), published by Thomas Y. Crowell with the cover notice: "A gripping story of outer space". He won his first Hugo in 1956 as the "best new writer". Daniel O'Connor is an Australian television actor and singer. He was one of the top 12 finalists in the 2004 series of Network Ten's reality talent contest programme ''Australian Idol'', aired on Network Ten nationwide in Australia, finishing eleventh. He then launched an acting career, appearing as Ned Parker on the soap opera ''Neighbours''. ''Australian Idol'' O'Connor auditioned for ''Australian Idol'' in Sydney. He auditioned with the church classic, "I Surrender All" written by Judson W. Van DeVenter. All 3 judges were thrilled by an impressive performance. Despite Dicko's dislike of religious songs, he gave O'Connor a 'yes' along with Mark and Marcia sending him into the top 100. Later, Dicko advised O'Connor to change to songs that would influence the "world" to vote for him. During O'Connor's Top 30 performance, he performed "Amazing" by Josh Kelley. ''Earth Girls Are Easy'' is a 1988 American science fiction musical romantic comedy film that was produced by Tony Garnett, Duncan Henderson, and Terrence E.
