Amanda Simard
Amanda Simard is the former MPP for Glengarry—Prescott—Russell in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the 42nd Parliament of Ontario. Simard was elected in the 2018 provincial election as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, but left the PC caucus on November 29, 2018 after Ontario premier Doug Ford eliminated the province's French-language services commissioner and cancelled plans for a new French language university. On January 16, 2020, Simard joined the Ontario Liberal Party. She lost her seat in the 2022 Ontario general election. During the 2022 provincial election Simard was defeated by Stéphane Sarrazin. She is president of the International Network of Young Parliamentarians. Grant Crack
Grant E. Crack (born April 2, 1963) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 2011 to 2018 who represented the rural Eastern Ontario riding of Glengarry—Prescott—Russell. Background Crack was born in 1963 in Quebec, and moved to Alexandria, Ontario, as a child. He attended Glengarry District High School in Alexandria, graduating in 1982. He then completed a college diploma, and worked in the private sector before returning to Glengarry. He also worked full time as a manager at the Husqvarna dealership in Alexandria. He is fluently bilingual in English and French, and his children attended French language schools in Glengarry. Canadian Senate Page Program
The Canadian Senate Page Program is a student internship program for the Senate of Canada. Each year, 15 undergraduate students are chosen through a national competition to work as a page for the Senate. Pages are primarily responsible for assisting senators and table officers throughout sittings of the Senate by fulfilling various requests as well as those of various dignitaries, Supreme Court justices, the prime minister, and the governor general when visiting the Senate. Pages are responsible for numerous tasks in relation to chamber and committee duties, such as distribution of files and documents, relaying messages, and administrative and procedural duties.
