Amanda Blumenherst
Amanda Blumenherst (born November 4, 1986) is an American professional golfer who plays on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She was a three-time National Player of the Year at Duke University and won the U.S. Women's Amateur title in 2008. In 2013, she announced that she would take a leave from professional golf to spend more time with her husband, major league baseball player Nate Freiman. Early life and personal life Blumenherst was born in Scottsdale, Arizona, the daughter of Amy (McClure) and David Blumenherst. She began playing golf at the age of four. She attended high school at Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, where she was a four-time Rolex All-American and was the third-ranked national recruit as a senior. Lorena Ochoa
Lorena Ochoa Reyes (; born 15 November 1981) is a Mexican former professional golfer who played on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour from 2003 to 2010. She was the top-ranked female golfer in the world for 158 consecutive and total weeks (both are LPGA Tour records), from 23 April 2007 to her retirement on 2 May 2010, at the age of 28 years old. The Curtis Cup is the best known team trophy for women amateur golfers, awarded in the biennial Curtis Cup Match. It is co-organised by the United States Golf Association and The R&A and is contested by teams representing the United States and "Great Britain and Ireland". Dinah Shore Trophy Award
The Dinah Shore Trophy Award is an annual award introduced in 1994 in honor of Dinah Shore that is given to one of the top collegiate female golfers. The award, which is administered by the LPGA Foundation and presented by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA), recognizes a female collegiate golfer who excels in both academics (GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale) and athletics – playing in at least 50 percent of the team's scheduled events – while maintaining a 78.00 or less scoring average. The nominees must also demonstrate outstanding leadership skills and community service.
