Amanda Bingson
Amanda Yvette Bingson (born February 20, 1990) is an American track and field athlete specializing in the hammer throw. She is the former American record holder in the event with a distance of set at the 2013 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Bingson attended school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she is a school record holder and majored in interdisciplinary studies. She had only taken up the hammer throw in 2009 as a college freshman and has continued to improve since then. A month before the trials, she finished fourth at the NCAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Prior to that, she was a shot put and discus thrower at Silverado High School in Las Vegas, where her team won the state championship twice and where she finished second in the 2008 shot put. Victorville is a city in Victor Valley in San Bernardino County, California. Its population as of the 2020 census was 134,810. History In 1858, Aaron G. Lane came to what is now known as Victorville and founded a waystation called "Lane's Crossing." Athletics At The 2012 Summer Olympics
The athletics competitions at the 2012 Olympic Games in London were held during the last 10 days of the Games, on 3–12 August. Track and field events took place at the Olympic Stadium in east London. The road events, however, started and finished on The Mall in central London. Over 2,000 athletes from 201 nations competed in 47 events in total, with both men and women having a very similar schedule of events. Men competed in 24 events and women in 23, of which 21 were the same for both. The women's schedule lacked the 50 km race walk and included 100 m hurdles and heptathlon as opposed to the men's 110 m hurdles and decathlon. Irapuato is a Mexican city (and municipality) located at the foot of the Arandas Hill (in Spanish: ''Cerro de Arandas''), in the central region of the state of Guanajuato. 2012 NACAC Under-23 Championships In Athletics
The 2012 NACAC Under-23 Championships in Athletics were held at the Centro Paralímpico Nacional in Irapuato, Mexico from 6 to 8 July. It was the seven edition of the biennial athletics competition for NACAC area athletes under 23 years of age. A total of 44 track and field events were contested, divided evenly between the sexes. It was the third time that Mexico had hosted the event, having done so in 2000 and 2008. Over 400 athletes from 23 nations competed at the championships. Eleven championship records were broken at the competition, with particularly strong performances in the sprint events. Jason Rogers equalled the 100 metres record while Auriyall Scott improved the women's time. Gwendolyn Denise Berry (born June 29, 1989) is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the hammer throw. Her mark of on June 8, 2018, ranks her #7 on the all time list. She also holds the world record in the weight throw with a mark of set in March 2017. She is a three-time national champion in the weight throw at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Amber Campbell (born June 5, 1981) is an American hammer thrower. Campbell attended Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina and competed for the Chanticleer track team. She had her first international competition at the 2005 World Championships. She then competed in the 2009, 2011, 2013, and 2015 World Championships. Hammer Throw
The hammer throw is one of the four throwing events in regular track and field competitions, along with the discus throw, shot put and javelin. The "hammer" used in this sport is not like any of the tools also called by that name. It consists of a metal ball attached by a steel wire to a grip.
