Amadou Ali
Amadou Ali (1943 – 27 September 2022) was a Cameroonian politician. Born in Kolofata, he was Minister of Justice since 2001 and a Deputy Prime Minister since 2004. He served as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister Delegate at the presidency in charge of Relations with the Parliament. From 1974 to 1982 he served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Service. From 1982 to 1983, he held the position of Delegate General of Tourism. From 1983 to 1985 he was appointed Delegate General of the National Gendarmerie. He was appointed Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence on 24 August 1985, and retained the post for 12 years. From 19 September 1996, to 7 December 1997, he held the post of Secretary General at the Presidency cumulatively with his functions as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence. Kolofata
Kolofata is a town and commune in Cameroon. Boko Haram Attacks On January 12, 2015 a military base in Kolofata was assaulted by Boko Haram. The Ministry of Justice of Cameroon is the Department responsible for administering the Cameroon justice system. As of May 2004, the Minister of State for Justice was Amadou Ali. The legal system in the Cameroon is complex with a constitution developed in 1972 and revised in 1996 as well as elements of the Code Napoleon, Common Law and customary law. In early 2005, the Ministry of Justice became responsible for administering the prison system due to unrest in the prisons. The Ministry of Justice also has a shared responsibility for administering human rights in the Cameroon. Boko Haram, officially known as ''Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād'' ( ar, جماعة أهل السنة للدعوة والجهاد, lit=Group of the People of Sunnah for Dawah and Jihad), is an Islamic terrorist organization based in northeastern Nigeria, which is also active in Chad, Niger, and northern Cameroon. In 2016, the group split, resulting in the emergence of a hostile faction known as the Islamic State's West Africa Province. Yaoundé
Yaoundé (; , ) is the capital of Cameroon and, with a population of more than 2.8 million, the second-largest city in the country after the port city Douala. It lies in the Centre Region of the nation at an elevation of about 750 metres (2,500 ft) above sea level. The outpost of Epsumb or Jeundo was founded between the Nyong and Sanaga rivers at the northern edge of the area's forests in 1887 by German explorers as a trading base for rubber and ivory. A military garrison was built in 1895 which enabled further colonization.
