Alyssa Mautz
Alyssa Lee Mautz (born July 29, 1989) is an American former professional soccer forward and midfielder. She played from 2013 to 2022 for the Chicago Red Stars of the NWSL, and played on loan to Australian club Perth Glory for the 2018–19 W-League season. She previously played for Sky Blue FC in Women's Professional Soccer (WPS), Zorky in the Russian Women's Football Championship and has represented the United States at the U-23 level. She retired from Chicago in 2022 to accept a job as an assistance coach at Texas A&M University. Early life Born and raised in Missouri, Mautz attended Fort Zumwalt West High School in O'Fallon, Missouri where she was named All-State, All-Metro and All-Conference all four years. Chicago Red Stars
The Chicago Red Stars are a professional women's soccer club based in Bridgeview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. A founding member of the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) league, they have played in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) since 2013. WPS was the NWSL's predecessor as the professional women's soccer league in the United States, and the Red Stars played in the WPS in 2009 and 2010. After leaving the WPS in December 2010 due to the league's financial issues, the club joined the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) for the 2011 season. In 2012, the Red Stars co-founded and played in Women's Premier Soccer League Elite (WPSL-E): a one-year league which bridged the WPS and the NWSL. Women's Professional Soccer
Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) was the top-level professional women's soccer league in the United States. It began play on March 29, 2009. The league was composed of seven teams for its first two seasons and fielded six teams for the 2011 season, with continued plans for future expansion. The WPS was the highest level in the United States soccer pyramid for the women's game. On January 30, 2012, the league announced suspension of the 2012 season, citing several internal organization struggles as the primary cause. Some of these issues included an ongoing legal battle with magicJack owner Dan Borislow and the lack of resources invested into the league. Kathleen Camille Lind (; born February 15, 1994) is an American professional soccer defender who plays for Houston Dash in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She played collegiate soccer for the University of Notre Dame. Danielle Jessica Colaprico (born May 6, 1993) is an American soccer player who currently plays for San Diego Wave FC of the NWSL. She previously played for NWSL rivals Chicago Red Stars as well as Adelaide United and Sydney FC in the Australian W-League. 2013 National Women's Soccer League Season
The 2013 National Women's Soccer League season was the inaugural season of the National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in the United States. Including the NWSL's two professional predecessors, Women's Professional Soccer (2009–2011) and the Women's United Soccer Association (2001–2003), this was the seventh overall season of FIFA and USSF-sanctioned top division women's soccer in the United States. The league was (and is) operated by the United States Soccer Federation and receives major financial backing from that body. Regular season champion FC Gold Pride won the WPS Championship on September 26 with a 4-0 victory over the Philadelphia Independence.
