Alyson Matteau
Alyson Matteau (born December 17, 1997) is a Canadian-American ice hockey defender, currently playing with the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). She is currently the second all-time leading scorer among University of Maine women's ice hockey defenders. Playing career From the age of 12 until she was 16, she played for the junior Québec provincial girls' hockey team. In high school, she played for Northwood School in Lake Placid, New York. From 2015 to 2019, she attended the University of Maine and played with the Maine Black Bears women's ice hockey team, scoring 61 points in 135 NCAA Division I games and serving as team captain in her senior year. She scored her first career collegiate goal against Brown University in October 2015, and was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie team that season. 2020–21 NWHL Season
The 2020–21 NWHL season was the sixth season of the National Women's Hockey League in North America. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the season was held in a bubble in Lake Placid, New York, from January to February 2021, with all five teams returning from the previous season, along with the Toronto Six expansion team as the first Canada-based team to play in the league. The season was suspended again due to positive cases of COVID-19 within the bubble. The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary Minor league#Ice hockey, developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). The 2012 NHL Entry Draft was the 50th NHL Entry Draft. The draft was held June 22–23, 2012, at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Stefan Matteau
Stefan Matteau (born February 23, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey forward for Linköping HC of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Matteau was born in Chicago, Illinois, but grew up in Blainville, Quebec. Playing career Matteau was drafted 29th overall in the 2012 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils. He is described as a rugged power forward who plays a hard-nose style. Matteau debuted for the Devils on January 19, 2013, against the New York Islanders. Stéphane Matteau (born September 2, 1969) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played over 800 regular-season games in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted in the second round, 25th overall, by the Calgary Flames in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. The Stanley Cup (french: La Coupe Stanley) is the championship trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff champion. Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone.
