Alvin Ganzer
Alvin Ganzer (1911–2009) was an American film and television director. Early life Ganzer was born in 1911 in Cold Spring, Minnesota. Career As a young man, Ganzer moved to California, and in 1932 was given a job at Paramount Pictures in its casting department. He worked for Paramount as an assistant and second unit director on many feature films from 1934 through 1954. His first directorial feature film credit is for ''The Girls of Pleasure Island'' (1953); he had been assisting F. Hugh Herbert, who became ill during production. From 1954–1979 he was a prolific director of episodes for television series, and directed a handful of additional feature films. Personal life He was married to Murial Ganzer, and they had a son Alvin, and a daughter, Carolynn Jacobs Finnegan, all of whom survived him. Cold Spring is a city in Stearns County, Minnesota, United States, at the gateway of the Sauk River Chain of Lakes, an interconnected system of 14 bay-like lakes fed and connected by the Sauk River. Cold Spring is part of the St. Cloud Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its population was 4,025 at the 2010 census. History Originally home to the Ojibwe, Winnebago, and Dakota people, Cold Spring was platted in 1856, and named for the many springs near the original town site. A post office has been in operation at Cold Spring since 1857. ''David Cassidy: Man Undercover'' (the word "undercover" in the series title appeared at various times written as one word or two) is an American police drama starring David Cassidy, four years after his run starring in ''The Partridge Family'', his first starring role since that series was cancelled. The series was spun off after Cassidy starred in a special two-hour episode of '' Police Story'', titled "A Chance to Live", which aired in May 1978; this episode served as the pilot for ''Man Undercover''. In ''A Chance to Live'', Cassidy portrayed undercover police officer Dan Shay, a cop who successfully infiltrates a high-school drug ring as a fellow student.
