Alura Zor-El
Alura In-Ze is a fictional character, fictional comic book character appearing in publications by DC Comics, usually those featuring Superman and related characters. Alura is the Kryptonian daughter of In-Zee, wife of Zor-El, mother of Supergirl (Kara Zor-El), Supergirl, and paternal aunt (by marriage) of Superman. Created by writer Otto Binder and artist Al Plastino, the character first appeared in ''Action Comics'' #252 (May 1959). The character has appeared in media adaptations of the ''Superman'' and ''Supergirl'' comics, including live-action films, television programs and video games. Alura was portrayed by Mia Farrow in the 1984 film ''Supergirl (1984 film), Supergirl''. In the first two seasons of the Arrowverse series ''Supergirl (TV series), Supergirl'', Laura Benanti portrayed Alura until Erica Durance took over the role. Joshua Middleton (sometimes credited as Josh Middleton) is an artist and designer working in the animation, film, comics, and book industries. In 2004 he was nominated for an Eisner Award as "Best Cover Artist" for his work on Marvel's '' NYX'', ''X-Men Unlimited'', and ''New Mutants''. Career Middleton started his career as a comic book artist in 2000 as penciler for CrossGen's ''Meridian'', written by Barbara Kesel. After that, he joined a small independent British publisher, Com.x, planning to release there his creator-owned series ''Sky Between Branches'', but only did a preview issue in early 2002, along with some other work for the publisher. Erica Durance (; born June 21, 1978) is a Canadian actress. She is known for her role as Lois Lane in the WB/ CW superhero television series ''Smallville'' and as Dr. Alex Reid in the CTV medical drama ''Saving Hope''. The Monitors are a group of fictional comic book characters, who appear in books published by DC Comics. They are based on the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor, two characters created by comic book writer Marv Wolfman and comic artist George PĂ©rez as the main characters of DC Comics' ''Crisis on Infinite Earths'' limited series. They are a group that watches all aspects of the Multiverse, past and present. Most importantly, they seek to prevent crossovers between the universes, as was common before "The Crisis".
