Aluminium (album)
''Aluminium'' is the name of a music project based upon an orchestral reworking of the music of the band The White Stripes. Its members are Richard Russell and Joby Talbot. Jack White, of the White Stripes, has endorsed the project. Rob Jones has also produced an exhibition of artwork based on the album. Artwork Ten images based upon the album, as well as a series of other White Stripes and Raconteurs artwork, all by Rob Jones, were displayed at the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester in Autumn 2006. Richard Russell (XL Recordings)
Richard Russell (born March 18, 1971) is an English record producer and the owner of British record label XL Recordings. Career XL Recordings was founded in 1989 by Tim Palmer and Nick Halkes to release dance music. Richard Russell joined XL as an A & R scout in 1991. In 1992, Russell released a single titled " The Bouncer" as part of a duo named Kicks Like a Mule. ''The Guardian'' described the song as rave music that was "knocked into shape in about five hours" which "crossed over from pirate radio to reach number seven in the charts." Russell appeared on ''Top of the Pops'' and was initially signed to London Records for an album but was dropped from London before its completion. By 2007, Russell was a chairman and half owner of the record label XL Recordings, which had released albums by acclaimed groups such as the White Stripes, Dizzee Rascal, Thom Yorke and MIA. A pre-order is an order placed for an item that has not yet been released. The idea for pre-orders came because people found it hard to get popular items in stores because of their popularity. Companies then had the idea to allow customers to reserve their own personal copy before its release, which has been a huge success. Four Tet
Kieran Hebden (born September 1977), known as Four Tet, is an English electronic musician. He came to prominence as a member of the post-rock band Fridge before establishing himself as a solo artist with charting UK albums such as '' Rounds'' (2003) and ''Everything Ecstatic'' (2005). In addition to his eleven studio albums as Four Tet, Hebden's work includes a number of improvisational works with jazz drummer Steve Reid and collaborations with Burial and Thom Yorke. Alongside his own recordings, Hebden has produced albums by American improvisational group Sunburned Hand of the Man and Syrian dabke singer Omar Souleyman, and arranged the 2021 Madlib album ''Sound Ancestors''. ''Get Behind Me Satan'' is the fifth studio album by the American rock duo the White Stripes, released on June 7, 2005, on V2 Records. Though still basic in production style, the album marked a distinct change from its guitar-heavy 2003 predecessor, ''Elephant''. With its reliance on piano-driven melodies and experimentation with marimba on "The Nurse" and "Forever For Her (Is Over For Me)", ''Get Behind Me Satan'' plays down the punk, garage rock and blues influences that dominated earlier White Stripes albums. The Hardest Button To Button
"The Hardest Button to Button" is a song by American alternative rock band the White Stripes, released as the third single from their fourth studio album, ''Elephant'' (2003). Jack White said that the song is about a child trying to find his place in a dysfunctional family when a new baby comes. The cover of the single is an allusion to the graphics of Saul Bass, seen in the movie posters and title sequences of films such as ''Anatomy of a Murder'' and ''The Man with the Golden Arm''. The cover also alludes to Jack White's then-broken index finger and his obsession with the number three. "The Hardest Button to Button" was first released to US alternative radio on August 11, 2003, and was issued commercially in the United Kingdom on November 17, 2003. "Blue Orchid" is the first track by the American alternative rock band the White Stripes from their album ''Get Behind Me Satan'', and the first single to be released from the album. Although it was suspected that Jack White wrote the song about his breakup with Renée Zellweger, he has denied this claim. ''Cold Mountain'' is the soundtrack for the Civil War film '' Cold Mountain'' (2003) starring Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, and Renée Zellweger. De Stijl ("the style" in English) was a Dutch art movement, which included the painter Mondrian.
