Alterosa is a Brazilian municipality in the South of the state of Minas Gerais. According to latest data from IBGE (2020), its population is estimated to be 14,517. History It is said that Alterosa was one of the first populated places in the South of Minas Gerais. José Rodrigues Moreira, a Portuguese man coming from EspÃrito Santo, marked the development of the city. Furnas is a civil parish in the municipality of Povoação on the island of São Miguel in the Portuguese Azores. The population in 2011 was 1,439, in an area of 34.43 km2.
