Katherine Anne "Kitty" Pryde is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, commonly in association with the X-Men. The character First appearance, first appeared in ''The Uncanny X-Men'' #129 (January 1980) and was co-created by writer-artist John Byrne (comics), John Byrne and writer Chris Claremont. A Mutant (Marvel Comics), mutant, Pryde possesses a "phasing" ability that allows her to become intangible. The author, James Kakalios, is a physics professor.
