Cody Foster, better known by his stage name Sadistik, is an American alternative hip hop artist from Seattle, Washington. He is currently unsigned to a label. Musical career In 2008, he released his debut album ''The Balancing Act'' on Clockwork Grey Music. In 2013, he released his sophomore LP '' Flowers for My Father'' on Fake Four Inc, which received positive reviews. Vibe Magazine called the album "gripping & emotional". Alternative Hip Hop
Alternative hip hop (also known as alternative rap) is a subgenre of hip hop music that encompasses a wide range of styles that are not typically identified as mainstream. AllMusic defines it as comprising " hip hop groups that refuse to conform to any of the traditional stereotypes of rap, such as gangsta, bass, hardcore, and party rap. Instead, they blur genres drawing equally from funk and pop/rock, as well as jazz, soul, reggae, and even folk." Alternative hip hop developed in the late 1980s and experienced a degree of mainstream recognition during the early-to-mid 1990s. While some groups such as Arrested Development and The Fugees managed to achieve commercial success before breaking up, many alternative rap acts tend to be embraced by alternative rock listeners other than hip-hop or pop audiences. Equal Vision Records
Equal Vision Records is an independent record label based in Albany, New York. It was founded in the early 1990s by Ray Cappo, singer for the punk bands Youth of Today, Shelter, and Better Than a Thousand. The label originally existed solely to distribute Shelter and other Krishna releases. In 1992, label manager Steve Reddy bought Equal Vision from Cappo. The focus was expanded and a wider variety of bands were brought on board. According to ''Punk News'', the mid-to-late '90s saw a redoubling of the Equal Vision's hardcore efforts with such signings as One King Down and Ten Yard Fight. By the end of the '90s Equal Vision Records (EVR) had a stable of hardcore and punk bands, having added Bane, Trial, Converge and Saves the Day to its roster in the latter part of the decade. The Independent Albums chart (previously titled Top Independent Albums) ranks the highest-selling independent music albums and extended plays (EPs) in the United States, as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Michael Hussar is an American painter from Southern California. He was trained at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Early life Hussar was born 1964 in Southern California. He first took interest in art because of his father whom he would watch paint and occasionally work alongside him. He began painting when he was 6 years old, although he had been drawing before that. He later studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California where he taught painting afterwards. He was trained by painters Richard Bunkall, Dwight Harmon, and Judy Crook; and draftsmen Harry Carmean and Burne Hogarth. Later on, he taught Portraiture and Head Painting for almost 10 years at ArtCenter and continues to teach portrait painting workshops in the United States and Europe. Rituals of Mine (previously known as Sister Crayon) is an indie pop/ electronic/ alt R&B duo from Sacramento, California founded in 2010, and led by vocalist Terra Lopez. History Sister Crayon was formed in 2010 by Terra Lopez (vocals) and Dani Fernandez (samplers; MPC and Roland SPD-SX). Lopez had previously performed under the names Silent and Clementine.
