Alpine Skiing At The 2018 Winter Paralympics – Women's Super Combined
The Women's super combined competition of the 2018 Winter Paralympics was held at Jeongseon Alpine Centre, South Korea. The competition took place on 13 March 2018. Medal table Visually impaired In the downhill visually impaired, the athlete with a visual impairment has a sighted guide. The two skiers are considered a team, and dual medals are awarded. The super-G was started at 09:30 and the slalom was started at 15:00. Standing The super-G was started at 10:05 and the slalom was started at 15:22. Sitting The super-G was started at 10:40 and the slalom was started at 15:42. Paralympic alpine skiing is an adaptation of alpine skiing for athletes with a disability. The sport evolved from the efforts of disabled veterans in Germany and Austria during and after the Second World War. The sport is governed by the International Paralympic Committee Sports Committee. Danelle D’Aquanni Umstead (born February 15, 1972) is an American alpine skier and Paralympian. She is part of the US Paralympics team. Kelly Gallagher MBE (born 18 May 1985), is a retired British skier and the first athlete from Northern Ireland to compete in the Winter Paralympics. Gallagher won Britain's first ever Winter Paralympic gold medal during Sochi 2014. Childhood Kelly was born on 18 May 1985 and was raised in Bangor in the north of County Down. Her father, Patrick Gallagher, was an airline pilot. She is a graduate in mathematics from the University of Bath.
