Alphawezen
Alphawezen is a German electronic duo formed in 1998, consisting of Asu Yalcindag (vocals, lyrics) and Ernst Wawra (music). In the beginning, Alphawezen was an instrumental project, but with the first official album ''L'après-midi d'un Microphone'' (2001, Mole Listening Pearls) and with the co-operation of singer Asu it became a kind of ambient electronic pop music. Their style can also be considered as downtempo. In Anne Fontaines Film '' Nathalie...'' with Emmanuelle Béart and Gérard Depardieu (2003), the Alphawezen song "Gai Soleil" is used in a club scene. In October 2007, the third Alphawezen album ''Comme Vous Voulez'' was released at Mole Listening Pearls. In November 2009, the double CD ''Snow/Glow'' was released, including remixes by Nightmares on Wax and The Timewriter. A single entitled "Smile" has been released in August 2011. ''En Passant'' is a 2004 album by the German electronic duo Alphawezen, which was formed in 1998, consisting of Asu Yalcindag (vocals, lyrics) and Ernst Wawra (music). Mole Listening Pearls
Mole Listening Pearls is a German record label based in Mannheim. From 1996 till 2003 it was owned by UCMG; in 2004 Mole Listening Pearls was overtaken by Daredo Music. The name "Mole" is from the novel "Neuromancer" in which mole is a kind of computer virus. Since 1996 various artists of electronic music, like Alphawezen, Bassface Sascha, De-Phazz, Lemongrass, moodorama, Naomi, Wax Tailor, Barbara Lahr, Yonderboi and Zagar have been released on this label. The first records were compilations. On "Science Jazz Vol. 1", arranged by the Zurich DJ Minus 8, you could find artists like Nightmares on Wax, LTJ Bukem and Lamb, on "Breaking The Ice" you can find, among others, Kruder & Dorfmeister and Red Snapper. From 1997 on individual artists have been signed by this label. Downtempo (or downbeat) is a broad label for electronic music that features an atmospheric sound and slower beats than would typically be found in dance music. Closely related to ambient music but with greater emphasis on rhythm, the style may be played in chillout clubs or as "warm-up or cool-down" music during a DJ set. Jean Frank Cochois, also known as The Timewriter, is a German house record producer. His trademark style can be characterised by its dense and atmospheric sound. UK ''Muzik'' magazine wrote: "This is real 21st century soul music, overflowing with magic". Under various pseudonyms he has been releasing 12" and artist albums on labels as Plastic City, Mole Listening Pearls, Elektrolux and American labels such as Wave Music, Driftwood, and Fiji.
