Alper
Alper is a male Turkish given name. It is composed of the two words ''alp'' and ''er''. In Turkish, "Alp" means "Stouthearted", "Brave", "Chivalrous", "Daredevil", and/or "Valorous". The second, ''er'' means soldier or male. Additionally ''Alper'' is used as an adjective for an ancient legendary Turkish commander; Alp Er Tunga who lived around 300 B.C. It's meant to be a good hearted one too. From the same Asian cultural roots, Alper is closely related to name 勇士 (Japanese ''yuushi'', Chinese ''yǒngshì'') derived 勇 =Alp and 士 =Er words. Alper Uçar
Alper Uçar (born 19 January 1985) is a Turkish former competitive ice dancer. With his skating partner, Alisa Agafonova, he competed at two Winter Olympics (2014 and 2018) and won eight international medals, including silver at the 2011 Winter Universiade and three medals on the ISU Challenger Series. They skated in the final segment at six European Championships and four World Championships. Earlier in his career, Uçar competed in single skating. He is the 2005 Turkish national champion and a four-time junior national champion. Career Early years Uçar started skating in 1997, after the first ice rink opened in Ankara, Turkey. Samuel Alper OBE (25 April 1924 – 2 October 2002) was an English caravan designer and manufacturer responsible for the famous Sprite caravan, founder of the Little Chef chain of roadside restaurants, a viticulturist who revived the ancient Roman winery at Chilford Hall, a sculptor, the founder of the Curwen Print Study Centre for teaching printmaking and a philanthropist who sent caravans abroad to aid in disaster relief programmes. Jonathan L. Alper (September 14, 1950 – December 3, 1990) was an American actor and theatre director. He graduated from Amherst College in 1971. He made his acting debut in '' The Madness of God'' in 1974. Alper served as literary manager for the Folger Theatre from 1975 through 1978. Alper Sezener (born 1977) is a Turkish author of novels and short stories. Alper Sezener was born in Istanbul and graduated with a degree in philosophy (1999) and anthropology (2004) from Hacettepe University. After graduating he worked as an expert and administrator at the international development projects and construction-petroleum companies. He lives in Ankara. Howard Alper, (born October 17, 1941) is a Canadian chemist. He is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Ottawa. He is best known for his research of catalysis in chemistry.
