Along Came Auntie
''Along Came Auntie'' is a 1926 American silent film featuring Glenn Tryon and Oliver Hardy. Plot Mrs Remington Chow is concealing her second marriage from her aunt in order to receive a large inheritance. She is in financial difficulties and is thinking of taking in lodgers again much to the dismay of the maid. A man comes to the door with a bulldog and demands she pays her debt. As the maid goes out the man slips in. Mr Chow comes back from holiday as her first husband is entertaining her with a violin. The debt collector is hiding in the piano. As he emerges he gets tangled in the fight between husbands. Aunt Alvira arrives. Mrs Chow says she is still married to Vincent. Mrs Chow says they are friends playing a rough game "Duck the Knob". Fred Guiol
Fred Guiol (February 17, 1898 – May 23, 1964), pronounced "Gill," was an American film director and screenwriter. Guiol worked at the Hal Roach Studios for many years, first as a property man, later as assistant director and finally writer and director. He directed Laurel and Hardy's earliest short films, as their famous comic partnership gradually developed during 1927. Guiol directed many of Hal Roach's Streamliners in the 1940s. Guiol had worked closely with another Roach employee, cameraman George Stevens. When Stevens became a director in the 1930s, he often engaged Guiol as a screenwriter, Guiol, along with Ivan Moffat,was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for adapting Edna Ferber's novel ''Giant'' into the George Stevens production of ''Giant''. Tyler Brooke
Tyler Brooke (born Victor Hugo de Bierre, June 6, 1886 – March 2, 1943) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 90 films between 1915 and 1943. He was born in New York, New York and died in Los Angeles, California by committing suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. Before he became an entertainer, Brooke was a bank clerk and an attorney. He began on the stage at the Globe Theatre, New York City in 1912. He went to Los Angeles in 1925 with ''No, No, Nanette'' as a comedian and was captured for screen. He worked for Hal Roach for a year and a half before going into other films. In 1929, he sued Oliver Hardy for $109,570 damages, alleging that Hardy struck him across the arm with a billiard cue, fracturing it and preventing him working for 12 weeks.
