Almodôvar ( or ; ar, المدوّر, al-Mudawwar, the Round one) is a town and a municipality in the District of Beja, Portugal. The population in 2011 was 7,449, in an area of 777.88 km2. The present Mayor is António Bota, a member of the Socialist Party. The town's Museum of Southwestern Writing is featured on episode 1 of the three part documentary ''The Celts: Blood, Iron and Sacrifice'', which was broadcast by the BBC in 2015, and hosted by Alice Roberts and Neil Oliver, featuring stone tables containing what some archeologists believe to be a proto-Celtic language. Almodóvar del Campo is a municipality of Spain, located in the province of Ciudad Real, autonomous community of Castilla–La Mancha. Featuring a total area of 1.208,25 km2, it is the largest municipality in the region and one of the largest municipalities in Spain. As of 1 January 2020, it had a population of 5,983. Agustín Almodóvar
Agustín Almodóvar Caballero (born 25 May 1955) is a film producer and younger brother of filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar. He was born in Calzada de Calatrava and obtained a degree in chemistry from the Complutense University of Madrid. He began his career in film production as a messenger in Fernando Trueba's film ''Sé infiel y no mires con quién''. In 1986, he and Pedro founded their own production company, El Deseo S.A.
