Al Masirah ( ar, المسيرة ''al-Masirah'', which means "The Journey") is a Yemeni TV channel which was founded and is owned by the Ansarullah movement, Ansarullah movement (Houthis). The TV channel is headquartered in Beirut, Lebanon. History The President of the board of Al Masirah is Mohammed Abdulsalam who is also Houthis official spokesman and their chief negotiator. Al Masirah was founded by the Ansarullah movement, Ansarullah movement (Houthis) in January 2012 in Beirut, Lebanon and is located next to Hezbollah’s Al Manar TV with backup studios at Hezbollah headquarters. On 8 October 2020, Twitter suspended the account of Al Masirah. Ansarullah Movement
The Houthi movement (; ar, ٱلْحُوثِيُّون ''al-Ḥūthīyūn'' ), officially called Ansar Allah (' ''Partisans of God'' or ''Supporters of God'') and colloquially simply Houthis, is an Islamist, Islamist political and armed movement that emerged from Saada in Yemen Arab Republic, North Yemen in the 1990s. The Houthi movement is a predominately Zaidiyyah, Zaidi Shia Islam, Shia force, whose leadership is drawn largely from the Houthi tribe. The Houthis have a complex relationship with Yemen's Sunni Islam, Sunni Muslims; the movement has discriminated against Sunnis, but also recruited and allied with them. Under the leadership of Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi, the group emerged as an opposition to former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh. They accused him of corruption and criticized him for being backed by Saudi Arabia and the United States.
