Alliance Of The Presidential Majority
The Alliance of the Presidential Majority (french: Alliance pour la majorité présidentielle, AMP) is a political alliance formed by supporters of President-elect Joseph Kabila following the 2006 general elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This bloc currently holds the majority of seats in the National Assembly with 332 out of 500 seats. On 3 October 2018 the Unified Lumumbist Party and its parliamentary allies exited the coalition in anticipation of the 2018 general elections. The Union for the Nation (french: Union pour la Nation, ''UN'') is a Congolese electoral bloc formed by over 50 opposition supporters of Jean-Pierre Bemba, who was the major candidate in the 2006 presidential election and succeeding run-off against Joseph Kabila and is now a member of the Senate. It was originally constituted as the Group of Congolese Nationalists (french: Regroupement des Nationalistes Congolais, ''RENACO'') for Bemba's presidential candidacy. After Bemba lost the election, RENACO was re-constituted as the ''Union for the Nation'' with a more specific focus on nationalism and populism. Congolese National Convention
The Congolese National Convention (french: Convention Nationale Congolaise), also known as CONACO, was a federalist political alliance in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was formed and led by then Prime Minister, Moïse Tshombe. It consisted of a bloc of forty-nine parties from among the more than 200 parties that were formed primarily for participation in the 1965 general elections. Olivier Kamitatu Etsu (born 17 April 1964 in Brussels) politician of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and former Planning Minister in the government of Matata Ponyo Mapon and the leader of the Alliance for the Renewal of Congo (ARC) political party. Kamitatu is the President of the Africa Liberal Network. Career Kamitatu was a member of the Movement for the Liberation of Congo of Jean-Pierre Bemba who was appointed Speaker of the Transitional National Assembly. However, he was suspended by Bemba and founded the Alliance for the Renewal of Congo. The ARC allied with the RCD-K-ML of Antipas Mbusa to form the Forces for Renewal, who backed Mbusa in the 2006 presidential elections. André-Philippe Futa (August 26, 1943 – October 1, 2009) was a politician in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was originally from Miabi in Tshilenge District. Biography André-Philippe Futa Mudiumbula Tshitumbu Tshipadi was born in Miabi, Tshilenge District, Democratic Republic of Congo as the only son of Kabongo wa Mfuta wa Kalubi and Tshiambuaya Marie-Madeleine. He was a member of the royal family of Bena Mbayi and Bakwa Dishi. Futa was admitted to the Official University of Congo (UOC), where he studied agronomic sciences and graduated with distinctive honors as an agricultural engineer.
