Allentown Brooks
The Allentown Brooks were a minor league baseball team that operated from 1935–1936. The nickname was derived from their parent team, the Brooklyn Dodgers. They played in the New York–Pennsylvania League and were based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The ballclub was previously known as the Reading Brooks before moving to Allentown midway through the 1935 season, largely as a measure to reduce operating costs. George Cisar (baseball)
George Cisar (August 25, 1910 – February 19, 2010) was a left fielder in Major League Baseball who played briefly for the Brooklyn Dodgers during the season. He batted and threw right-handed. Early life and education Born in Chicago and raised on the city's Southwest Side, Cisar attended Harrison Technical High School in Chicago. Baseball career Cisar began playing baseball in Chicago and eventually started going to tryouts around the country. In 1935, he was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers' Leaksville-Draper-Spray Triplets minor-league team. After spending all of 1936 and most of 1937 in the minors, Cisar was elevated to the Dodgers in September 1937. In a 20–game career, Cisar posted a .207 batting average (6–for–29) with eight runs, four runs batted in, and three stolen bases without a home run. Ben Geraghty
Benjamin Raymond Geraghty (July 19, 1912 – June 18, 1963) was an American infielder in Major League Baseball and one of the most successful and respected minor league managers of the 1950s. A Jersey City native, Geraghty went right from Villanova University to the Brooklyn Dodgers, appearing in 51 games with the team in his rookie season. He appeared in 19 more games with the Boston Braves over the 1943 and 1944 seasons, compiling a batting average of .199 in 146 at bats with 29 hits in 71 career games. In 1946, he survived a horrific bus crash that killed nine of his Spokane Indians teammates. As he wound up his playing career, Geraghty started managing. He was part of the Milwaukee Braves system for nine years from 1953 through 1961, during which time Hank Aaron played for him. Aaron considered Geraghty the best manager he ever had. George Decatur Fallon (July 8, 1914 – October 25, 1994) was a backup second baseman/shortstop in Major League Baseball who played for the Brooklyn Dodgers () and St. Louis Cardinals (-). Marion Danne "Bill" Adair (February 10, 1913 – June 17, 2002) was an American coach and interim manager in Major League Baseball (MLB). A second baseman, he was a career minor-league player who never rose about the Class AA level but who spent 21 years as a manager in the minors.
