Allen-Lande
Allen/___ is a set of collaborative metal supergroup projects by Symphony X vocalist Russell Allen. The first collaboration, Allen/Lande was formed in 2005 by Italian record company Frontiers, though none of the members are Italian. It takes its name from Allen and its other singer former Masterplan vocalist Jørn Lande. The project started with Swedish guitarist Magnus Karlsson ( Primal Fear, Starbreaker, Last Tribe) as producer, main instrumentalist and songwriter. Together with drummer Jaime Salazar, the quatuor released three albums: '' The Battle'' (2005), '' The Revenge'' (2007), and '' The Showdown'' (2010). In 2013, Timo Tolkki (ex-Stratovarius) and Jami Huovinen replaced Karlsson and Salazar, leading to the album '' The Great Divide'' (2014). ''The Great Divide'' is the fourth and final studio album by hard rock supergroup Allen-Lande, a collaboration between vocalists Russell Allen and Jørn Lande, released on October 17, 2014. It features Timo Tolkki as composer, producer and performer of most instruments, and Jami Huovinen on drums, replacing Magnus Karlsson and Jaime Salazar from previous albums. Lande wrote most of the lyrics, marking his first involvement as a songwriter in Allen-Lande. ''The Showdown'' is the third studio album by hard rock supergroup Allen-Lande, a collaboration between vocalists Russell Allen and Jørn Lande released on November 5, 2010. It is the third album in a row, and the last, to feature Magnus Karlsson as songwriter, producer and performer of most instruments, and Jaime Salazar on drums. Unlike on previous albums, Karlsson only wrote lyrics for a few songs, with most songs featuring lyrics by Tomas Erlandsson instead. Timo Tolkki
Timo Tapio Tolkki (born 3 March 1966) is a Finnish musician best known as the former guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer of the power metal band Stratovarius. With his tenure lasting for more than twenty years, he was the longest standing member of the band before his departure in 2008. After leaving Stratovarius he formed two supergroups named Revolution Renaissance and Symfonia, both of which have since disbanded. In a 2011 article by ''Guitar World'' magazine, Tolkki was included in the all-time top 50 list of the world's fastest guitarists. Jørn Lande
Jørn Marumsrud Lande (born May 31, 1968) is a Norwegian hard rock and heavy metal singer and songwriter. He is known for his work with the bands Ark, Beyond Twilight, Millenium, Vagabond, The Snakes, and most notably with power metal band Masterplan. He is also the most recurrent guest singer of the international supergroup Avantasia, and has worked as lead and guest singer in several projects. Currently, he is focusing his activities on his solo project Jorn. In 2014, Lande was hired by Riot Games to be the voice of the character Karthus, of the fictional heavy metal band Pentakill (''League of Legends''). Russell Allen
Russell Allen (born July 19, 1971) is an American singer best known as the vocalist of the progressive metal band Symphony X. He has also worked with the supergroups Star One, Allen-Lande, Level 10, and as one of fourteen vocalists in the progressive symphonic metal band Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Since 2011, he has also served as the frontman of the heavy metal band Adrenaline Mob. Biography Before his music career began, Allen was a jouster at a Medieval Times Dinner Theater. Magnus Karlsson (musician)
Magnus Karlsson (born 26 November 1973) is a Swedish heavy metal songwriter, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He is currently a session musician and songwriter of the band Primal Fear, as well as for other projects like his own ''Free Fall''. Biography Magnus attended school to study classical guitar when he was 10 years old. ''Worlds Apart'' is a collaborative album by American singer Russell Allen (Symphony X, Adrenaline Mob, Allen-Lande) and Swedish singer Anette Olzon (ex-Nightwish) under the moniker Allen/Olzon. It was released through Frontiers Records on 6 March 2020. In 2019, Norwegian singer Jørn Lande announced that there would be no more Allen/Lande albums, citing his own lack of enthusiasm. Russell Allen then went forward with this new collaboration with Olzon, which was announced on 19 December 2019. The first song to be released was the title track, on 17 January 2020. Later, on 18 February, "Never Die" was streamed. On the same day as the album's release, Frontiers streamed the song "What If I Live". Starbreaker (band)
Starbreaker is a heavy metal/hard rock band signed on Frontiers Records. The band has released three full-length studio albums. Band history Starbreaker started as vocalist Tony Harnell's side project while he was still in TNT, after recording the TNT album ''All the Way to the Sun'' in 2005. Initially, Harnell was working on a solo record, but with guitarist Magnus Karlsson, former TNT drummer John Macaluso, and bassist Fabrizio Grossi, they formed the new band Starbreaker, rather than a Harnell solo project. The band recorded its first self-titled studio album in 2005, and it was released on July 13, 2005. After the release of the album, Harnell went back to being the lead vocalist of TNT, but left the band in April 2006 to spend some more time with his family while still writing songs. Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand.
