Alleluia! The Devil's Carnival
''Alleluia! The Devil's Carnival'' (stylized onscreen as ''The Devil's Carnival: Alleluia!'') is a 2015 American Musical film, musical Fantasy film, fantasy horror film directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and written by Terrance Zdunich. It is a direct sequel to Bousman's 2012 short film ''The Devil's Carnival'', but unlike the previous film, ''Alleluia'' is a feature-length project. Production commenced in August 2014 and the film was released on August 11, 2015 by Cleopatra Films. Plot Lucifer conducts a train full of condemned souls, including Ms. Merrywood, back up to Heaven ("Shovel and Bone"). In Heaven, God discusses the crisis with his top dog, The Agent. The Agent and The Translators, officers in Heaven's police force, interrogate Merrywood. In Hell, the Ticket-Keeper warns Lucifer that the carnies are not prepared for a war with Heaven, but Lucifer dismisses him to entertain a cloaked figure. Darren Lynn Bousman
Darren Lynn Bousman (; born January 11, 1979) is an American film director and screenwriter, best known for his work in horror films. He has directed four of the ''Saw'' films: ''Saw II'', ''Saw III'', ''Saw IV'', and '' Spiral''. He also directed the horror musicals ''Repo! The Genetic Opera'' and ''The Devil's Carnival'' movies. ''The Devil's Carnival'' is a 2012 American musical horror film directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and starring Sean Patrick Flanery, Briana Evigan, Jessica Lowndes, Paul Sorvino, Emilie Autumn and Terrance Zdunich. The film marks the second collaboration of Bousman and writer/actor Terrance Zdunich, their previous work being the unrelated musical film ''Repo! The Genetic Opera''. The film also brings back several of the cast members of ''Repo!'', such as Sorvino, Alexa Vega, Bill Moseley and Nivek Ogre. Barry Dennen (February 22, 1938 – September 26, 2017) was an American actor, singer, and writer. He played Pontius Pilate on the original recording and later in the film of ''Jesus Christ Superstar''. Life and career Dennen was born in Chicago, Illinois in February 22, 1938. His brother is Lyle Dennen. In New York City from 1960 to 1961, he had a relationship with Barbra Streisand.
