''All the King's Horses'' is a studio album by country entertainer Lynn Anderson, released in 1976. Only one single (the title track) reached the top 20 on the country singles chart; the second single, a cover of John Prine's "Paradise" reached the Top 30, and a third and final single, "Rodeo Cowboy" did not chart within Top 40. Peaking at 28, the album was the first Lynn Anderson studio album to chart outside the Top 20 on country albums chart since 1970. Lynn Anderson
Lynn Renée Anderson (September 26, 1947 – July 30, 2015) was an American country singer and television personality. Her crossover signature recording, "Rose Garden," was a number one hit in the United States and internationally. She charted five number one and 18 top-ten singles on the ''Billboard'' country songs chart. Anderson is regarded as one of country music's most significant performers. Born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, United States, she was raised in California by her mother, Liz Anderson, who was also a country music artist. Daughter Lynn was signed to a recording contract to Chart Records in 1966 after she was heard singing along with her mother at an industry function. Previously she had recorded some demo tapes of her mother's songs and appeared on television in California on regional country music shows. Johnny Cunningham
Johnny Cunningham (27 August 1957 – 15 December 2003) was a Scottish folk musician and composer, instrumental in spreading interest in traditional Celtic music. Johnny Cunningham was born on 27 August 1957 in Portobello, Edinburgh. He was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but later became inactive. He was a founding member of Silly Wizard, as well as a member of Relativity, The Raindogs, and Nightnoise. Throughout his career, Cunningham was a fiddler, composer, and producer. His younger brother, Phil Cunningham, also a former member of Silly Wizard, is a multi-instrumentalist best known for his piano-accordion and whistle playing. Johnny Cunningham died of a heart attack on 15 December 2003 in New York City at the age of 46. "Paradise" is a song written by John Prine for his father, and recorded for his 1971 debut album, ''John Prine''. Prine also re-recorded the song for his 1986 album, ''German Afternoons''. Background The song is about the devastating impact of strip mining for coal, whereby the top layers of soil are blasted off with dynamite or dug away with steam shovels to reach the coal seam below.
