''All Quiet on the Preston Front'' is a BBC comedy drama about a group of friends in the fictional Lancashire town of Roker Bridge, and their links to the local Territorial Army infantry platoon. It was created by Tim Firth. Episodes Three series were made. For series two and three the title was shortened to ''Preston Front'', and the series became less about the TA and more about the personal lives of the protagonists. Comedy
Comedy is a genre of fiction that consists of discourses or works intended to be humorous or amusing by inducing laughter, especially in theatre, film, stand-up comedy, television, radio, books, or any other entertainment medium. Territorial Army (United Kingdom)
The Army Reserve is the active-duty volunteer reserve force of the British Army. It is separate from the Regular Reserve whose members are ex-Regular personnel who retain a statutory liability for service. The Army Reserve was known as the Territorial Force from 1908 to 1921, the Territorial Army (TA) from 1921 to 1967, the Territorial and Army Volunteer Reserve (TAVR) from 1967 to 1979, and again the Territorial Army (TA) from 1979 to 2014. Oliver Charles Cotton (born 20 June 1944) is an English actor, comedian and playwright, known for his prolific work on stage, TV and film. Angela Lonsdale
Angela Lonsdale ( Smith; 13 October 1967) is an English actress. Biography Born to a policeman father, Lonsdale trained at Brewery Youth Theatre at the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal. She took part in a large number of amateur productions, including plays by local playwrights John Newman-Holden and Tim Bull. After initial rejection, Lonsdale then graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Lonsdale is best known for playing police officer Emma Taylor on '' Coronation Street'', later the wife of Curly Watts. Both characters left the programme in 2003. Austin J. "Ozzie" Yue (born 12 August 1947) is a British actor and musician of Chinese heritage. His television roles include appearances in ''Father Ted'', ''All Quiet on the Preston Front'' and '' Coronation Street'' and roles in films include '' Lara Croft: Tomb Raider'', ''Syriana'' and ''Nuns on the Run''. David MacCreedy
David MacCreedy is an English film, television and theatre actor, as well as being a director and film producer. He is best known for his role as Cpl Pete Polson in the television series All Quiet on the Preston Front and for playing Tony in the rugby film Up 'n' Under. Career Television Whilst at drama school, MacCreedy was in the Territorial Army (now the Army Reserve) which helped with his audition for Cpl Polson in All Quiet on the Preston Front. Anthony Marshall (born 14 May 1964) is a British actor, known for his roles as Nelson in ''Life on Mars'' and Noel Garcia in '' Casualty''.
