All Pakistan Confederation Of Labour
The All Pakistan Confederation of Labour (APCOL) was a national trade union centre in Pakistan. It was formed in 1950 through a merger of Pakistan Federation of Labour, PFL and East Pakistan Federation of Labour, EPFL and in the following years became the dominant trade union centre through government sponsorship. In the 1960s, it dissolved into Pakistan National Federation of Trade Unions, PNFTU, All Pakistan Federation of Labour, APFOL and All Pakistan Federation of Trade Unions, APFTU. History After independence, Pakistan's trade unions were organised in the Pakistan Federation of Labour and the East Pakistan Federation of Labour. In 1950, these federations merged into the APCOL, though the new West Pakistan Federation of Labour and East Pakistan Federation of Labour retained a large degree of autonomy. A.M.
