All I Can Say
''All I Can Say'' is a 2019 documentary film about Blind Melon singer Shannon Hoon, consisting largely of footage he shot on his camcorder during the last five years of his life, from 1990 to 1995. The film, directed by Hoon (and directed after Hoon's death by Danny Clinch, Taryn Gould, and Colleen Hennessy), documents Hoon and his band's formation, their rapid rise to stardom, and his tragic death at the age of 28. Shannon Hoon
Richard Shannon Hoon (September 26, 1967 – October 21, 1995) was an American singer-songwriter and musician. He was the lead singer of the band Blind Melon from 1990 until his death in 1995. Early life Richard Shannon Hoon was born on September 26, 1967 in Lafayette, Indiana. He was raised in the nearby town of Dayton, Indiana with his older half-sister, Anna and older half-brother, Tim. His father, Dick Hoon, was a bricklayer and his mother, Nel Hoon, was a manager of a bar in Dayton. In high school, he played football, wrestled, and was a pole vaulter. Shannon's musical influences included the Grateful Dead, The Beatles, John Lennon, and Bob Dylan. After graduating from McCutcheon High School in 1985, Hoon joined a local glam metal band named Styff Kytten, which also featured guitarist Michael Kelsey. Danny Clinch
Danny Clinch (born 1964) is an American photographer and film director. Biography Born in Toms River, New Jersey, Clinch graduated from Toms River High School East in 1982. After attending Ocean County College, he attended the New England School of Photography, a two-year institution located in Boston. Clinch began his career as an intern for Annie Leibovitz, and went on to photograph the likes of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, Tupac Shakur, The Smashing Pumpkins, Blind Melon, Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Nicole Atkins, and Björk. His "unobtrusive" style, according to his bio, is one of the features that Clinch's photographic subjects enjoy.
