''All About Chemistry'' is the third and most recent studio album by American rock band Semisonic, released on March 13, 2001, through MCA Records. With this release, the band failed, at least in America, to capitalize on the momentum it had generated with the song " Closing Time" from their previous album, '' Feeling Strangely Fine''. This had a softer edge than ''Feeling Strangely Fine'' and was not as popular with the fans. By 2002, the album had sold 58,000 copies, and its poor sales partially led to the band going on an unofficial hiatus. However, it has a five star rating by ''Q Magazine''. The track "Chemistry" was featured on the soundtrack for ''40 Days and 40 Nights''. The song "One True Love" was co-written by the band's singer/guitarist, Dan Wilson and music legend Carole King. Semisonic
Semisonic is an American rock band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1995, consisting of Dan Wilson (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards), John Munson (bass, keyboards, backing vocals, guitar), and Jacob Slichter (drums, percussion, keyboards, backing vocals). They are best known in the U.S. for their 1998 single " Closing Time". They also had international success with the singles " Singing in My Sleep", "Secret Smile" and "Chemistry". Jacob Slichter
Jacob Slichter (born Jacob Huber Slichter, April 5, 1961) is an American musician. He is best known for being the drummer for the rock band Semisonic. Early life Slichter, the son of physicist Charles Slichter, was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard with a degree in African American studies and history. He is the drummer for the Minneapolis based rock band, Semisonic. Career Slichter, in 2004, wrote ''So You Wanna Be a Rock & Roll Star'' (), a book that details his experiences as a member of Semisonic and their journey through the recording industry. John Munson
John Munson (born December 13, 1966) is an American musician who is best known as the bass player for Semisonic. He was also a member of Trip Shakespeare during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Trip Shakespeare Matt Wilson, lead vocalist of Trip Shakespeare, recalled how Munson joined that band in 1985: Semisonic When Trip Shakespeare dissolved, Munson and fellow band member Dan Wilson—Matt's brother—formed a new band called Pleasure with Jacob Slichter, which later became Semisonic. My Scene (stylized in all lowercase) is an American series of fashion dolls that Mattel released in 2002. They were discontinued in the US in 2008, and worldwide in 2011. Mattel's Barbie character is one of the dolls in the toy line. The My Scene dolls' bodies are slim, similar to earlier Barbie dolls, but their heads are larger.
