Saint Louis Athletica
Saint Louis Athletica was an American professional soccer club that was based in the St. Louis suburb of Fenton, Missouri that participated in Women's Professional Soccer. Athletica started the 2009 season playing its home games at Ralph Korte Stadium, on the campus of SIUE in Edwardsville, Illinois, then moved to Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri in June. On May 27, 2010, the WPS announced that the Club would fold effective immediately, forcing the league to compete with only 7 teams for the rest of the season. India Trotter
India Ashlei Trotter (born March 10, 1985) is an American former professional soccer player. She played for Saint Louis Athletica, Sky Blue FC, and the Atlanta Beat of Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) and the United States women's national soccer team. Early life Born in Plantation, Florida, Trotter was raised in Fort Lauderdale, where she attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School and was a standout soccer player. She was a three-year starter at St. Thomas Aquinas who scored 62 goals and recorded 47 assists. She earned All-Broward/Dade Team for three years. She was also named Freshman of the Year. Trotter played club soccer for four years for three-time State Cup Champions, Team Boca. She was named the Nation's Cup Tournament MVP and was State Cup runners-up in 1997 with Coral Springs. Kia Janeen McNeill (born May 15, 1986) is an American retired professional soccer defender who most recently played for the Boston Breakers in the NWSL. She previously played for the Saint Louis Athletica, Philadelphia Independence, and the Atlanta Beat in the WPS and was a member of the United States U-23 women's national soccer team. Kerri Michel Hanks Petersen (; born September 2, 1985) is an American soccer forward who last played for Sky Blue FC of Women's Professional Soccer. She is currently the head coach for the Clay County United Soccer Alliance U18 girls' soccer team. She will soon be taking over as the Director of Coaching for the girls side of the operation, for the GSA in Gainesville, Florida. Hanks was a forward for the University of Notre Dame women's soccer team from 2005 to 2008, and is one of the most highly decorated players in the history of women's college soccer. She was the fourth player in women's college soccer to win the Hermann Trophy twice, joining Mia Hamm, Cindy Parlow, and Christine Sinclair in sharing that honor. Francielle Manoel Alberto (born 18 October 1989), commonly known as Francielle or Fran, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Brazil women's national football team. At club level she most recently played for Norwegian Toppserien club Avaldsnes IL. Sara Margareta Mattsson (; born 13 May 1979) is a Swedish former football defender who played for KIF Örebro DFF of the Damallsvenskan league. She won 112 caps as a member of the Sweden women's national football team. Career She formerly played for Malmö FF Dam. In November 2008, her Woman's Professional Soccer playing rights were obtained by St. Louis who named her as a post-draft discovery player. The 2008 WPS General Draft took place on October 6, 2008. It was the first general draft held by Women's Professional Soccer to assign the WPS rights of international and domestic players to the American-based teams.
