Aliya Teregulova
Aliya Ramazan gizi Teregulova (13 May 1913, Tbilisi – 13 March 1968, Moscow) was an Azerbaijani Soviet actress. She was awarded a title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1943). Life and career Aliya Teregulova was born on 13 May 1913 in Tbilisi. Since the age of ten, she was regularly involved in music activities. In 1930, Teregulova graduated Azerbaijan State Turkish Music College. From 1932, she was a soloist of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, Opera and Ballet Theater. In 1937, Teregulova graduated from the vocal department of the Baku Academy of Music, Azerbaijan State Conservatory. When the Azerbaijan State Theatre of Musical Comedy, Azerbaijan State Theater of Musical Comedy was opened in 1938, she was invited to the troupe. The Hajibeyov Baku Academy of Music (Azeri: ''Hacıbəyov adına Bakı Musiqi Akademiyası'') is a music school in Baku, Azerbaijan. It was established in 1920 in Baku and was previously known as the Hajibeyov Azerbaijan State Conservatoire. History In 1920, Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov began a movement aimed at propagating classical music among the people. His report presented at the Azerbaijani People's Commissariat of Education (early Soviet analogue of a Ministry of Education) offering the establishment of a high-level music education institution resulted in the approval of his proposal. Thus, the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire was founded on 25 May 1920. Hajibeyov became one of its first instructors. In the 1920s, he established the Oriental Department, where Azeri folk music was taught both traditionally (orally) and by European methods, i.e., using notes. Azerbaijan State Theatre of Musical Comedy ( az, Azərbaycan Dövlət Musiqili Komediya Teatrı) is one of the leading musical theatres of Azerbaijan. History The premiere of ''Husband and wife'', a musical comedy written by Uzeyir Hajibeyov in 1909, was held on May 24, 1910, in the building of the Nikitin brothers’ circus, in Baku. This production laid the foundation of Azerbaijan State Theatre of Musical Comedy. By 1938, musical comedies were displayed on the stage of Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. In 1938, an independent theatre of musical comedy (with Azerbaijani and Russian departments), which acquired official status of "Azerbaijan State Theatre of Musical Comedy" in September of the same year, was organized. Shamsi Badal oghlu Badalbeyli ( az, Şəmsi Bədəl oğlu Bədəlbəyli) (23 February 1911, Shusha – 23 May 1987, Baku) was an Azerbaijani theatre director and actor. Life and career Shamsi Badalbeyli was born in Shusha to Badal Badalbeyli, a music teacher, and his wife Rahima. He belongs to a family of Azerbaijani artists, including with his uncle Ahmed Agdamski, older brother Afrasiyab Badalbeyli and son Farhad Badalbeyli. Shamsi Badalbeyli graduated from high school in Baku and enrolled in the Azerbaijan State Conservatoire in 1927, majoring in Theory of Composition. After graduating in 1932 and doing fieldwork in Moscow's Maly Theatre, he directed ''Monsieur Jordan and Mastali the Dervish'' by Mirza Fatali Akhundov at the Azerbaijan State Academic Drama Theatre.
