Alive II Tour
The Alive II Tour was a concert tour by Kiss (band), Kiss, and was the follow-up to the Love Gun Tour which ended in early September. History The Alive II Tour saw Kiss perform 5 sold-out nights at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan, Budokan, breaking their previous record of 4 one year earlier, as well as breaking the previous record by The Beatles. They also played 3 sold-out nights at Madison Square Garden in their hometown of New York City, and multiple nights in several other cities, including San Antonio; Landover, Maryland; Chicago; Detroit; and Providence, Rhode Island. The audience for the band were mainly young teenage crowds. AC/DC was the opening act for several concerts on this tour. The costumes and stage show were carried over from the Love Gun Tour, with minor changes made to the setlist. During the show in Pittsburgh, Peter Criss had passed out in the middle of the concert. The Taylor County Expo Center, formerly Taylor County Coliseum, is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Abilene, Texas. It was built in 1973. McNichols Sports Arena was an indoor arena located in Denver, Colorado. Located adjacent to Mile High Stadium and completed in 1975, at a cost of $16 million, it seated 16,061 for hockey games and 17,171 for basketball games. Detective was an American/English rock band, that toured and recorded in the late 1970s. Detective consisted of vocalist Michael Des Barres, guitarist Michael Monarch, bassist Bobby Pickett (not the 1960s singer of the same name), ex- Yes keyboardist Tony Kaye, and drummer Jon Hyde. The band released two albums, ''Detective'' (produced by the band, Andy Johns and Jimmy Robinson) and ''It Takes One to Know One'' in 1977, as well as ''Live From The Atlantic Studios'', a promotional album recorded in 1978 for radio broadcast, in 1978. Prairie Surf Studios (originally Myriad Convention Center and later Cox Convention Center) is a film production complex located in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It was formerly a convention center and the home of several minor league teams. "Beth" is a song by American rock band Kiss, originally released on their 1976 album ''Destroyer''. It was composed by drummer Peter Criss, his friend Stan Penridge and producer Bob Ezrin. Casablanca Records released it as a single in August 1976, after it was released as the B-side of "Detroit Rock City". "Beth" is Kiss's biggest commercial hit in the United States; it reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, received a Gold Record certification from the RIAA, and won the 1977 People's Choice Award for "Favorite Song".
