Alison Wright (born 12 July 1976) is an English actress. She is best known for her starring role as Martha Hanson on the FX period spy drama series ''The Americans'' (2013–2017), for which she received critical acclaim and earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2017. Wright's other notable roles were as Marjorie in the Amazon Prime Video crime drama series ''Sneaky Pete'' (2015–2019), as Pauline Jameson in the FX docudrama series '' Feud'' (2017), and as Ruth Wardell in the TNT dystopian thriller series ''Snowpiercer'' (2020–present). She also appeared in various films, including ''The Nanny Diaries'' (2007), '' The Accountant'' (2016), and '' Ask for Jane'' (2018). Alison Wright was a documentary photographer, author and public speaker. Wright travelled the globe documenting endangered cultures, people and issues concerning the human condition. She twice received a Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Award from the Society of American Travel Writers and became a Dorothea Lange Fellow in Documentary Photography at the University of California, Berkeley in 1993. In January 2000, Wright was nearly killed in an accident in Laos, when the bus she was riding was hit by a logging truck. Her story of survival has been featured in ''Outside'' magazine, ''National Geographic Adventure'', and ''Yoga Journal'', and is documented in her memoir, ''Learning to Breathe: One Woman's Journey of Spirit and Survival''. Alison Wright (born 2 February 1980) is a track and road cyclist from Australia. She represented her nation at 2002 Commonwealth Games and won a bronze medal in the 3000m Individual Pursuit. She also rode at the 1999, 2002 and 2004 UCI Road World Championships The 2004 UCI Road World Championships took place in Verona, Italy, between 27 September and 3 October 2004.
